JDM fan install

I ordered a JDM aux fan from Dan at American Toyota, thanks Dan. I followed Romer's install (JDM Aux Fan Install - It doesn't get easier). Only I complicated it due to my electrical prowess.... or um uhh.... lack there of. I didn't read where he added a fusible link, I opted to. It's probably overkill and not needed - but I had it in the garage and figured I'd put it to use. I'd also like to find a Toyota connector and replace my current set up.

I went wheeling in the Anza Borrego desert, my temps never got above 195 while the fan was on. The last time I wheeled I was in the 210-230 range. Moral of the story here....
If you are supercharged and run dual batteries, I highly suggest this very easy mod.

Sadly that aux fan switch was removed trying to redo some of the things undone by other owners is like a large jigsaw puzzle Im also focused on cleaning up the dual battery install back to where you had it when orginally done, this truck is still 9/10 Id have to say, drove from Bama up to Boston no problem at all, new york city hi ways were a bit rough tho.

Thanks Sam! Are you home yet? TDS this weekend!

Thanks! I took the trim off around the windows but left the door handles on. Be careful taking the trim off the front and middle row windows, the plastic clips break easily and you have to buy a whole new trim piece vs just the plastic clips. The rear sliding window trim has different clips that don't break as easy but if you do happen to break one, you can order the new clip from a parts vendor here on mud (Clip, Door Glass Pn: 68211-60030).
I didn't line the door jambs - doing so would require a lot more masking. I do plan on rolling on another coat as there is a bit of white showing through on some spots and some vinyl flattener is required to get rid of some glare, while doing so I'll probably do the jambs.

Thanks Cody. I bought the clear lights on ebay. Neondials ebay store specifically. 91-97 TOYOTA LAND CRUISER FJ80 CLEAR BUMPER LIGHTS+BULB | eBay
My truck has a bit of an identity crisis. It has 3 names, 1973Guppie deemed it "Booger", VC Cruzr named it "The Croc" and my good buddy named it "Swamp Thing". I'm leaning towards "Swamp Thing".

I've been waiting on a few odds and ends to wrap up this project. I just got my Roger Brown 1" body lift and am waiting for a new steering gear box. I ordered some black rivets to match the louvers but they are still a week out from delivery. I'll probably end up installing the louvers with silver rivets then drill them out when the black ones arrive.

Its Officially now, the BEAST terrorizing all the liberal crybabies here in massachusetts, Plus I am a military guy so its perfect. I have to say scoring this rig, with ALL its paperwok and THEn finding the builder(mike) here on the forum is perfection, hell 3 weeks ago I returned from taking my street mod jeep to MOAB and then i did this.

Thanks! Yeah they do match the middle row height for sleeping if need be.

I'm not sure if he is interested. He was gun ho at first, but his work situation has improved, so who knows. He built another MUD member's box too, Overlander 80, who has some different features than I. Check it out here...

Check out my rear end....
I will be building the same drawers next week it will all be posted on the rigs own youtube channel so standby

HID update

a pressure washer party!?!

Check out what I just did...
I bought them off a MUD guy and he hand delivered them. Installed them and grabbed a bite to eat. Thanks for the great deal and help Sal!

I thought these might be a little too blingy for me, but they look good IMO. Not my first choice (JDM retro fit HID) but my OEM's had some broken brackets that made them shake down the highway.

4" King spring center of the hub to the bottom of the wheel well (no flares)
Driver side front - 27"
Passenger side front - 26.5"
Driver side rear - 25"
Passenger side rear - 24.5"
My first impression of the new springs was favorable. I'd say it was an improvement. I've wheeled on them already - the flex is better all around and my front axle actually flexed. With my J's I could get about 3 inches of travel up front, now I get about 6". I'm currently running a little lite (no front bumper and no storage box in the rear) and the ride isn't nearly as stiff and doesn't "hop" down a rough road like my J's did just before replacing them.
I'm curious as to how the new springs will handle my new bumper and box installed.

One passenger said it rides like a Tahoe - I didn't know if I should say thanks or ask him to get out. I said thanks.

I like the ride - I didn't like spending the money on new springs to "find out". My gamble paid off and I'm happy with the purchase.

Yup - I'm waiting to hear back from a friend - he wants them but has to get past the CFO first. We all know what that is like....:crybaby:
