Sorry, can't sell it. It's my wife's mower, she doesn't like a zero turn. My father in law got it from his brother who bought it new. Great mower, always garaged etc. their a beast.

Clutch work

Finally got the clutch slave and master cylinder installed and working. Had a real hard time removing the hard line from the flex line. Work done for the weekend. Hopefully next weekend will tackle the brakes, just purchased a master cylinder today so on to the next. I'm sure the hard lines will be just as hard to get off. Got a good base paint on the heater, ready for a fresh coat of paint. Had the heater core pressurized cleaned and tested at Sapps Radiator for $25. All good and ready to go back in.

Brakes

So the clutch went it and works fine. Now on to the brakes. Got a new master clyinder and ready to go. So today removed the old master and was checking to see if I could get air throught the lines. No go. So off with every fitting to see where the clog was. Three of the four flex lines were clogged. All hard lines were fine, except the one I spun off, last one of course. So for now got to fine new flex lines and someone to fab a new short metal one. One step forward, two steps back.

Almost Done (with Brakes)

Ordered my three flex lines today and one 12" steel line. Got the MC and sensors bolted on. While at the parts store purchased two new re-built calipers and pads. Got what I had installed today and now waiting for the flex lines before I can test the lines bleed and move on to the next project. Up next is the intake manifold with new Downey headers.

** Looking for 4 original steel wheels for the stock cruiser ** any for sale please let me know.

We will, I know I get a little impatient. I'll have to shine those up this week. Thanks

Friday

Just a shot of the flex lines I picked up today from the parts store. It was a very productive Friday as far as purchases go. Bought the three flex brake lines, purchased a new radiator from Keystone and called Sam from Lowe Toyota in Ga. Sam is on the main forum and give a great discount. I ordered 4 new steel wheels, four stock caps, a inner and outer boot for the T-Case. A big day!! Tonight I installed the re-built heater and all the brake lines. The goal for Sunday and Monday are to bleed the lines and finish the brakes then hang the intake manifold and Downey header. Happy New Year!!

Sun. 1 Step forward, 2 steps back

On Saturday I had big plans to install the new flex brake lines, bleed the brakes and then install the header and intake manifold. Sounded real simple and maybe even quick. Guess I had forgot I was working with a 35 year old vehicle, it has other ideas. Got the lines on no issues, started pressurizing the lines and could not get anything to the rear cylinders. So to the front, they work flawlessly. Back to the rear. The Proportional valve under the MC was killing us. Must be clogged. After 2 hours of spraying, soaking, poking nothing. I found a drill bit that would fix it so I cleared the valve. Still nothing to the rear lines right now but got so frustrated and late in the day that I did want to accomplish at least one thing. So on to the header and intake. Guess what? The header needs to be ground where the lower dog ears from the intake go for it to sit correct. Maybe the most disappointing day in a while, really not much progress, lot of time spent and a new part purchased over a year ago not working when I wanted it to. I'll wait for the new day on Monday...

Headers

Monday I had to sneak down to the barn if I wanted to do any work. Seems I may have spent too much time there lately. Either way I got there and decided to fix the header issue, the rear brakes would have to wait. I measured what needed to be ground off, found a grinding wheel and went to it. After a couple of trips to the barn and working little by little I think we're there. Late yesterday I dry fitted the intake with the header. I got all the bolts in and seems like it should work. Sometime this week I hope to get back down there and pull everything off, place the gasket and re-install and torque to specs. Lets hope all fits as planned.

Back to the brakes. Has anyone else had an issue with the proportional valve before? Do they sell new ones at parts stores? Hopefully that will be next weekends project..again. The on to the carb. I know nothing about hook ups etc, so please post any pics of a carb installed with the linkages. I study them all and try to figure it out. Also, I assume the oil pressure sensor goes into the side of the oil cooler? Got to purchase one of them also. Thanks for any advice.

Keep your head up, that's just Cruiser wrenchin' for ya'. While you have the mani's off, I'd make sure they are damn straight before bolting everything back up. Quick trip to the machine shop to ensure they are flat is often well worth the money!

Friday night lights

Well, so far one step forward. Tonight I went down to the barn and installed the gasket, intake manifold and header. Shockingly it all went together without issue. Torqued everything to 33ft lbs. and should be good. Also picked up an oil pressure sending unit, installed. So far so good, removed both rear wheels and hubs. So hopefully this weekend we can finish the brakes and be done with that project. Got a call from my friend at Keystone Automotive and the radiator is in for pickup. Hopefully in the next few days the order from Sam at Lowe Toyota will arrive. Hopefully will have more to update this weekend.

A Successful Weekend!

Thanks guys for the encouragement. Finally had a good productive weekend. Brakes are finished!! That proportional value nearly derailed us. Go figure one little rubber washer inserted upside down would be the cause. Either way, we figured it out and now we have pressure to the rear wheel. Bleed the lines flushed them and now brakes all around. We the started dry fitting the carb that the came with the engine. Found we are missing two linkage pieces (see "help" thread) When we bought the engine it had all the hoses still connected. We started dry fitting those as well you can see in the pictures.

Now it is like a puzzle. What goes where and to what. Since we did not tear any engine down not really sure where it all goes back. I may ask to see some pictures of set ups or maybe a field trip to personally see someones engine set up. Hopefully this week I can finish up all the heater hoses, new fuel lines, etc.

I know the fuel filter that is on the frame is common, but there is a fuel filter next to the tank under the metal covers just before it leaves the cab. I cannot find anyone reference that filter? Any help would be appreciated.

Also as you can see the PO did not have a "hard" return fuel line. I assume it is okay to run a flex fuel line for the return? No issues?

Christmas came late

The UPS man left several late Christmas gifts tonight. 4 new stock wheels, 4 caps and a inner and outer boot for the T-Case shifter Sam at Lowe Toyota of GA made it happen. Thanks Sam!
