I found this 1989 HJ60 with the 2H for 8500, no major visible rust on body or frame, I also did the magnet around the body on most possible areas of rust. Is this a good price?

That’s not an 89, maybe 85/86.

The 2H engine is my second least favorite toy Diesel engine, only behind the L. Now if it were BJ60, that would be a great drivetrain.

Really hard to tell from the photos, but it looks like that truck is a bit tired. And yes, definitely not an '89. Many would argue the 2H is superior to a 3B, so drivetrain preferences are a matter of opinion. Both are good in my books.

What is mounted by the clutch master? It looks like the A/C drier. Normally there would be a clutch booster there which is missing (I'm not sure if ALL HJ's had them, but everyone I've seen does). It doesn't look like the factory location of the A/C drier, which would be on the RH side of the radiator.

But to answer your question, if both body and drivetrain checked out, it would be a good deal. My feeling though, is it's a bundle of trouble.

If I end getting this vehicle, I would definitely do an engine swap for a Japanese 12H-T and do a few upgrades to make it run a little better and cooler.

If you're going to swap the engine anyway, I bet you could find a cleaner cruiser with a 2F or 3FE for the money. You don't want to pay a premium for the diesel engine if you're not keeping it.

If running well, the 2H would be an easy sell, for decent money too. Probably easier to sell than a 2F or 3FE I would imagine.

I have decided to get a gas TLC, this one is located in south Florida, it was imported rom Spain; I got him to go as down as 7k If anyone is interested.
