Is there a budget boost equivalent for the 200?

Looking for a modest lift option with no plans to do any serious offroading or large tires. Just want to be able to accommodate 33's, maintain decent ride comfort and still fit in my garage. I know there are some OEM front spacers but any other options for say a 1" all around?

Have you looked at the OME medium lift for stock 200 series LCs?

As per this information, the front would be lifted less than 2" and the front less than 1" which would be a fairly small lift.

Yes, that's what I am likely to go with but was curious whether there was anything else in that realm.

Have you looked at Iron Man or ICON maybe? :meh:

I am throwing these out there because I was thinking that I had seen someone else on here with those options. I have an LX, so I am not really sure about the 200 series options. Sorry.

What year is your truck again? If it's older, just replacing springs should "lift" you back up to stock height. I think even my 2013 had a settled a half inch to an inch on one corner. Front OEM 3/8" spacers in front, 10mm OME trim Packers for the rear should give you a truck about an inch taller all around, especially if you add slightly taller tires.

As far as replacing the suspension, OME is your budget measuring stick. Consider the Fox 2.0 IFPs as a comparator, they are only slightly more expensive, never ran basic OME kit but from what I hear from guys who have run both is that the Fox are a better ride, "less harsh" so that's what I ended up with in the rear (but still with OME springs). In the front I "splurged" a little, and went with the Bilstein 6112s, again only marginally more in cost, problem is there's no LC application yet, though they are working on it. $650 for shocks and springs but you have to assemble and buy shock top mounts. But again, only marginally more than the OMEs. Edit: but a massive upgrade.

Also consider the Dobinsons, or Tough Dog, couple vendors on here that support each.

Good luck.

you can fit 275/70/18 KO2s which are a 33" tire with no lift at all according to a few posts I've seen

that plus the OME spacer up front will level it out. Probably all you would need and they are only $30 each.

toytec has various spacers for the tundra that I'm pretty sure would also work for the LC as both shocks have 4 bolt tops. Might be another option.

I'm told you can fit 34s on the LC without a lift, if you change the wheels or add wheel spacers. 33s will fit without rubbing with standard wheels. 285/65R18 or 285/70R17.

OEM spacers will lift the front about an inch.

If you want a small lift in the rear you could look into firestone rear airbags - I have a set I installed that I inflate to 30psi for towing to help level the ride. Without a towing load I run them at 5psi, where they basically act as bump stops and don't impact the ride. If you run them at 20-30psi they will add about 1/2-1" of rear lift. I haven't found them to make the ride particularly harsh even at 30psi, though it is slightly bouncier on really rough (city pothole-ridden) roads at that pressure.

Do you have a part number for those OEM front spacers? Thanks

I know I can fit 33s without a lift but I guess my goal, so to speak, is to fit 305-65-18s so I probably need some lift and 305s would be pushing it on the stock wheels.

I suspect width of 305s will be a problem unless you use a higher offset wheel. Expect rubbing on the UCA at least.

I'm going to try 285/75/R17 myself, but with +25 offset wheels. No lift. I'd consider front spacers if it comes to it.

The Nitto Ridge Grapplers are 33.8", FWIW. I did consider them in 275/70R18 which is 33.2" but with the limited driving I do I won't need tires for another 4-5 years most likely so I decided now was the time for me to up(down)grade the rim size too.

I say go fer it! My personal opinion but when upsizing tires, it shouldn't be at a detriment to any dimension. I personally did not want to give up any on road handling, while gaining more off road capability. Besides, sidewall bulge is great for protecting the wheels offroad too.

Here's my 305/55/20s which is a 33.2x12.5. It fits great with no rub, with just very minor adjustments to the front fender liner and splash guard. Yes, you'll need slightly lower offset, so for me, the key was to use a 1" spacer for an effective offset of ~35mm.

33.6"x12.5" tires should be very straightforward to fit as well, even without a lift.

Mine doesn't rub at any height (as AHC is capable simulating on the fly)

In another thread I and others are working on trying to figure out an all-Bilstein solution of 2.5" lift 6112 coilovers + remote reservoir 5160s in the rear.

The challenge is Bilstein doesn't seem to have an off-the-shelf part with the right mounts, compressed/extended length, AND valving for the 5160s, but I'm hoping to hear this week from Bilstein about revalving another part and calling it good.

On a good day, all 4 corners would be about $900, and probably a smidge over $1k at normal retail prices. Factor in $577 SPC UCAs for any of these lifts (including the budget OMEs). Will also need ~$250 OME springs for the rear.

Probably another ~$400-800 for the install depending on who does it, but my entire hypothesis is these Bilsteins, at a ~$1750 all-in hardware cost, should massively outperform the budget OME solution at nearly the same price point, and that's still at 50% less than the price of going with OME's BP-51 setup, and even cheaper still than the Fox/Icon/King high-end solutions.

Tremek,

Did you ever get the Bilstein solution figured out?

@NMNORSSE - unfortunately I didn't. Recently I put Bilstein 5100s on my Suburban and was thinking about this whole thing again, hoping that Bilstein releases something soon for the 200s as I actually really like the 5100 ride quality on my Suburban (2500 - rides around close to 7000 lbs) and I have to think the 5160 would translate well to the 200.

Haven't heard anything nor have I pursued this since June myself as I ended up going with the Icon Stage 1 setup on our 200 and am happy with everything except the price tag relative to what could have been with Bilsteins. :)

Congrats on the Icons!

It would be nice if Bilstein would offer something that works in the LC especially since you like it so much in your suburban.
