I have a 1980 with a metal tech cage. I don’t think so but is it possible to have a factory soft top with it. I have a family style bikini top currently. Thank you

Time to start tracking down some drawing with dimensions of the factory soft top bows and the cage so you can compare.

Not factory, but I had a bestop over my Mt family cage last winter. Plenty of room.

I have seen multiple FJ40's sporting full MT cages with both factory and real steel bows (the curve of the bows will not be a factor). Unless the installer of the MT cage went out of the way to raise the height of the cage for a tall end user, it should fit. The closest point of interference should be the A-pillar cage hoop right behind the windshield frame. If that tube is higher than the top lip of the windshield frame by more than 1/2" you could have an interference issue with the canvas touching the roll bar. There is usually enough slack in the canvass at that point but it will show a rounded front edge instead of the relatively crisp front edge of the typical soft top installation.
