I’m curious if this is something any of you have noticed, the lights seem to be way more pronounced than in prior years, and in later years.

They're a bit more pronounced in their design as they have round light pattern.

One of the first things I noticed when shopping for a 200 series and one of my buying decisions.

I know, I know... haha.

They stick out further, they flare out. Just wanted to see if anyone noticed that or if it’s something people talk about here, I’m new
To be honest I knew they looked different but I never noticed that they stick out more. Interesting…

Yeah I’m not sure if it’s just the camera angle making it look more extreme than it is, my initial reaction isn’t favorable, I like the flatter look of other years, they just seem kind of fragile and out there, just a nitpick, I’m looking for a 200.

woah this is throwing me for a loop. I can’t believe I never noticed this

Ok cool so I’m not crazy lol, thanks. Yeah it’s a pretty minor thing in the grand scheme but if I’m about to drop like 50k I’m going to be nitpicky about it

Sounds like you were in the same boat as me, did you ever get one or are you still in the market? Did you ever consider the safety features? I’m thinking about getting a 2016+, but I’m a little concerned that I won’t be able to turn off all the annoying nanny features off

Yes, I specifically only wanted '13-15 LC for the headlights and taillights. My understanding is safety feature differences are very minor.

Yes that was a change for the 2013-2015 facelift. I believe the headlights were slightly more pronounced, as you put it, as well.

You can turn them off and they are not as annoying as my BMW to be honest!

I noticed it as well... matches the front. First thought.... those lights are just asking to get hit on the trail.

My initial standpoint is from a 100 series. But, even in your pics I can see the difference. Certainly, more pronounced when surrounded by rocks/trees and when tilted at a 20+ degree angle. Bullbar would help protect all variations though.

Not sure what 100 series has to do with this lol and apparently we're looking at different pictures.. because to me, there's no difference.

Regarding rocks and trees... my land cruiser stays miles away from those. The only tilt it sees is from a new fridge loaded at Costco.

~2008 was the start of the protruding head/tail light trend. They even made protruding aftermarket tail lights for the 100 to update the look.

It was a style that has come and gone. Non existent in the 100. Introduced in the 200, peaking in the 13-15. Diminished in the 300. I prefer not to have protruding headlamps/tail lights when the headlamps are almost $2000 each. You are speaking specifically about aesthetics, carry on.
