Hi guys. Just wanted to drop a quick write-up of the @Ironman 4x4 USA Pro Forge UCAs. Now that I've had them on for a few months and have done some heavy wheeling with them, I thought I would share my experiences.

I had been running SPCs for a few years but I kept running into the issue of the balljoints sliding on the arms even when torquing them above SPCs recommended numbers. This would probably happen 50% of the time when I would wheel a difficult trail. While not the end of the world, it was definitely an inconvenience. Having to reposition the ball joint after a run or sometimes during gets old quick.

After looking around I decided to go with the Ironman UCAs mostly because I've had a really good experience with their bumper and Foam Cell Pro suspension. Although there wasn't much info out there, I thought I would give them a shot.

My first impression on receiving them were that they're very BEEFY, well built, and the fit and finish are excellent. The hardware for securing the brake lines is great, and the rubber bushings look like they are meant to take a beating. The BJs felt good too.

Installing them was simple and only took about 1 hour in my driveway. Alignment went well and I'm around +4 on caster with a 3" lift. Also the ride is great with no noise.

I've had them on for 5 months now and have run some tough rock gardens at Windrock, done a week of sub-zero wheeling in the Ozarks, and Golden Spike, Hells Revenge, and Top of the World in Moab. I've also done a few hundred miles of high speed off road driving too. All in all probably close to 15K miles on them and they have performed great.
A few weeks ago I had to replace front diff output seals and had to drop the knuckle from the UCA. I was amazed when checking the BJs that they still felt new. Just as smooth and stiff as when I installed the arms. I was honestly a little shocked because I have put them through the wringer. I was impressed.

When I was researching, I couldn't find much info so hopefully this can help the next guy. Its been all good so far. No complaints.

I didn’t even know these existed. The inner bushings appear to be OE-style molded rubber, is that just an optical illusion? If so, I consider that a plus as they should stay silent.

That is correct. It’s definitely not an optical illusion. I really like the bushings on these.

Awesome. Thanks for the post about these. Seem like another great option for people.

Thanks for the great writeup. Any idea which particular IM UCA would work for 2nd gen sequoia. I have a 2016 Sequoia Sr5 4x4.

I have them on my Land Cruiser and unfortunately my experience is not so good. After 15,000 miles of mostly highway driving the ball joints were quite loose and squeaking. I replaced the ball joints with 555 ball joints from Napa, but the joint they used was a couple thousands of an inch smaller. Installing replacement ball joints was a real pain.

Were you able to replace them using the 555 ball joints or did you have to find something else that would fit better?

I eventually got the 555 ball joints installed, but they peeled a little bit of the aluminum arm while being pressed in.

Any feedback from IM as to why the orginal UBJ failed prematurely?

Also, both bushings and UBJ comes with 3 yr warrantly correct?

Oh ok that's unfortunate though. I recently installed these. I hope Ironman is aware of the problem. Did you contact them and inform them of your issue?

I have not contacted them. After my experience with the bowed coil springs and then this I'm not planning to purchase anything else from them. It still might be worth contacting them

Oh wow ok. Yeah I would at least make them aware of your issues. Maybe they can offer some assistance to try to retain your business. Can't hurt to try.

It's probably just refund or replacement at their discretion. I don't think they will cover any cost associated with swapping out parts.
That is why I am hesitant to get rid of my OEM stock UCAs. All these after market UCAs are nowhere close to OEM UCAs in terms of quality, reliability and longevity.

I agree I was hesitant myself. I decided to just give them a try. I went to Dobinson's suspension but opted for the Ironman UCAs based on their corrosion resistance and use of OEM style ball joints and rubber bushings. I've only had mine installed a few weeks. Fit and finish is very high quality! Hopefully they last and I have no issues with them. Time will tell.

I hope so brother. Good luck.
