First off,Can't say how glad I am to be directed to a forum dedicated to the 100 series.I actually was driving home from
running my dogs and spotted a green 100 at Taco Bell that was modified.(other than mine,I have never seen another 100 with that
much work done).I went in and had a nice conversation with a gentleman from Mass who was travelling south who not only directed me to this forum but Slee Off-Road as well..Thanks again.

Well here goes my first post/question.I have had an IPF back-up light mounted on my TJM rear bumper for a couple of years and just put
off hooking up the light .I have always wondered if I could just use the trailer/towing harness as opposed to running wires all the way to the front.Just did not want to fry the harness if the 55w bulb is
too much of a load.Has any one done this or have a better suggestion?

Thanks,

John

I have my doubts that it was a Taco Bell, 100 series owners don’t eat junk food.
The other restaurants parking lot was probably full. ;)
Welcome!
There is no back up wire on the stock 4 wire flat. There’s a recall on some factory trailer wiring. Not sure if yours in including in the recall.

Thanks DMX,I will check on that recall.Yeah, after thinking about it,I think was planning on splicing into the reverse light .I haven't
even thought about it for the longest time.Only after finding this
forum,I now have a great deal of renewed interest in my Landcruiser.

Thanks again,
John

If you splice, be sure to use a relay and possibly get power from the rear power outlet or run another power wire. If is is a low wattage lamp youi may try running it off your existing circuit although I don't rercommend it. Also some cruisers have wiring installed for rear fog lights, you just need to find where the switch up front plugs in and the spare wires down the back. Also rear air conditioners if not installed will have a 20 or 30 amp power circuit to the rear blower motor possibly running to them, but once again finding all the relay contacts to bridge etc. can be a pain.

Yes it was a Taco Bell, I had pulled off the highway driving from Boston to Atlanta to fuel up and it was the closet fast food stop from the gas station. I had a lot of miles to go, and was trying to out run that big snow storm.
