Ok, I've never installed auxilary lights before and before I start I thought I'd get some input.

1. I notice the installation instructions have a tap into the high beams. Is this so that the lights will only come on with the high beams on? If so, is that the best way?

2. Should I wire the light so that they come on with the existing OEM fog lights?

3. Any suggestions, tips or warnings I should know about?

Thanks in advance.

It depends what your goal is--for me I wanted the light with my hi and low beams--so I connected the turn on lead to both. If you just want them to light up with your existing fog tap the turn on lead on your fog light--this way your fog switch will operate both the IPF and factory fogs........ To give you an idea I tapped my lightforce 240s to my hi beams and the IPF RV's to hi/low....

If you go to West Marine you can get Ancor butt connectors that seal with a heat gun or lighter :)

no but you could have the IPF's come on instead of the OEM worthless lights, can even use the stock switch, just wire from the old plugs to the new lights, OEM lights should be unpluged as both will draw to much amps thru the stock wiring. But if you do this they will only work on the low beam, OK for fog lights, not for driving lights

If you want the lights to be totaly controlled by you(not by the headlights), just take the wire that is for the high beam tap and hook it direct to a parking light. This is what I prefer, I can run them regarldess of headlights and they turn off when the car is turned off.

I like that Idea! Thanks Pimp and Sr Gringo!

Oh, one more thing. I really don't like the switch that came with the lights. I would rather use a switch that I can mount into one of the blanks (like next to the rear dif lock switch). Is that possible? I assume the switch is a simple on/off version. I was thinking of something like this:

On/Off Mini Rocker Switch round RED dot illumination 12V/16 Amp

not sure on the switch, I will work but I don't know how it will fit.

routing the wires, I would try to bring them thru the driveside(because the switch will be nearer the driver and the battery is on the DS) but look for a firewall gromet that might be unused, if not run it next to the OEM wiring. I have not even looked at my 100 for a way to run the wires.....so I am just making a sudjestion......

Thanks Landpimp, I bought a switch at Radio Shack that looks exectly like the one above, but it has a square bezel and is rated 12v/25A. It should work fine, however it will not fit in any of the blanks near the Dif Lock switch. I think I'm going to mount it where the hight control is in the LX470's.

Slee sells factory fog lamp switches for 80 series, I wonder if there is a similar option for 100's.
This is more expensive, but the factory look, feel, ease of installation, and quality is worth it to me.

I installed everything last night and mounted the switch in the center cosole forward of the shifter where the hight control is in the LX470's. I tapped the low beams and everything works and looks great.
