I finally figured it out ho to post pictures....So well, how it all started?I used to live in Germany and once in a while I have seen 40 driving around and thought -what a cool vehicle...I really liked yellow one with Camel Trophy all over it...And blue one ....and red one....So after I moved to the United States in 2003 I have never seen FJ 40 again until about 2009 and I almost bought that thing..it was for sale for 15 K...Well- going through divorce and buying the land from my ex I couldn't do it ...Finally I bought one last year and it is my great love...Working on it about every day-sometimes just a little things, but it makes me to know the vehicle better...Thanks to everyone who helped me from the Land cruiser community in this forum....Mike

Thanks,I will take more pictures soon but have to use my friends phone to do it...I am old fashion and don't have a right phone yet...

I am from Czech republic and worked in Germany for 7 years(No military) and loved it...Looking at news it changed a lot over there but don't want to go into political conversations here..I traveled a lot and know about every German town...yes beer is good there :) ...I have bought cruiser mostly restored but still a lot of things needs to be done and I fixed a few already..It is unbelievable how much time and money it takes to take care of it....Thanks for response...

You've got that right :-) ..I use to travel in Gemany ,but my base was in Berlin...Never been in Osnabruck I think, but I believe is somewhere by the border...

you know what they say about the 3 F's
“If it flies, floats or fxxxs, rent it, don’t buy it,” said the character Tommy Earl Bruner in Dan Jenkins’ novel, Baja Oklahoma (1981). The saying means that owning an airplane or a boat can be expensive and it’s cheaper to rent—and the same can be said for women.
It really is the 4 F's they forgot FJ40

Great looking 40... Welcome aboard!

Welcome to the mud. Lot of great people here. Prepare to learn and enjoy the 40

Great looking truck, dude!

My son worked for Tyco for a long time and became a builder and installer of plating lines. He was sent to the Czech Republic, Brno, for 90 days to supervise the installation of a new plating line and loved the area. The beer was terrific and he said the people were superb. I believe he still corresponds with a friend. Anyway, welcome to MUD and when you come to your NC cabin, be sure to look up the 40 owners here, there are a lot of 40's in NC.

I dont think I know of a single Czech :)

but I do wear a Czech military M85 throughout the winter months and the ushanka comes out at 10* or less :) at some point i need to find the matching ushanka to the jacket the officers ushanka is just to warm for avg winter days

Being in Texas you have no worries about these things LOL

so whats the next thing to do on the cruiser? winch? :)

That's nice to hear that somebody liked Czech republic....I know he enjoyed it a lot..It is very different country..In NC me and my ex were cruising the Outer banks one year and seen about 10 FJ40 or 45s by the beach...I know there is the TLCA club over there...I m not in NC often at this moment..need to find the club here in Texas...

Yeah, thats the winter clothes we used to wear in the Army!!In the mountains of Slovakia where I was stationed at the time was really cold.We slept in the tents with wood stoves in it.Not all the time just at the trainings.I love ushanka-I do have one made from real fur-don't need it here in TX :) Next thing needs to be done is front axle rebuild and steering fix.New carburetor is on plan,too...I am not ready for the winch yet,but most likely I will get one later..I used to live in Montreal,CA too so not too far away from Albany :) Georgeous mountains up there...

I finally flipped my shims under leave springs-PO installed them in opposite way and truck was having problem keeping the straight line when driving...it picked every rut in the highway...When I flipped back axle(and insert thicker shims)ride didn't change much but after I did the front axle--truck drives so much better and it is the night and day difference!!!!!It cured my drive quality....next time-checking the toe in just to be sure....I will take more picks soon..

Blue 40 I looked at in NC around 2010...Didn't like it too much like that red one...
