It is sad, but it is almost guarantee to find certain individual within any given forums who always think that they are better than others, just because they have more posts...

Newbie to this particular forum, sure; newbie in Land Cruiser and the love for it, I think not. :)

LX_TREME, I think those LEDs will work nicely especially in CA; hopefully, that should warn those speed demons away and have a second thought before smashing their engine bay to the ARB read bumper. :D

Center High Mounted Stop Lamp! Or (3rd brakelight!) Automotive indusrty has a love for acronyms!!

Also, Chrylser doesn't call the back window a back window, it's a Backlight.

Panes of glass or windows can also be referred to as "lights." That's your piece of trivia for the day :)

LX_TREME, not too worry, I'm sure they are just having some fun with newbies, that's all... ;)

Say, I might visit Japan by end of this year to do some specific shopping for LC 80 series only, perhaps you can point me to your contact(s) there... though I don't speak their language, I should be able to bring back some goodies for folks here... Let me know.

... Okay the price for the JDM LED tailight cost around 200buks something and ...

You know with a topic like this I could not stay away too long.

When you say "200buks something..." it could be as high as $299.95? :D ;p j/k.

If it's in the 200's for the whole set-up; lenses, housing, LED, etc... and not just for them to mod the lenses you have (or have to send in), that would not be a bad deal for some.

I think as far as brightness of LED goes, I'm not sure how much brighter their brightest are compared to their halogen (incadecent?:sp) counterpart. And the reduction in the reaction/light-up time is very small.

Now don't get me wrong. This is a kind of mod I have been planning on doing myself so I'm not trying to put LX down or the compnay who sells it. It's just that if some people think that this set-up will make a night-and-day difference in the brightness, reaction time, etc..., well I think they might be disappointed.

But if you are into lighting and have surfed on other forums such as HID Planet and others, you might know what you are getting into.

Just my $0.02.

If you could confirm the price and what it includes that would be cool, since I'm still interested in doing that mod. :grinpimp:

Just a heads up ..

...When my post count reaches 2K, I will be a GOD !!

Bow down before the one you will serve .. :flipoff2:

Dumbass ..

I just got over my second rearend collision in a year. Both of them happened in broad daylight. The first one, the guy was looking at the boats in the river and drove into me at 30 mph. Last week we were in stop and go traffic and the guy came in nose down standing on the brakes.

No damage either time because of my KAYMAR bumper. If you are worried about getting rearended take the 200.00 and invest in rear protection. But if the bling lifts your skirt those lights will probably work well until the next new design.

that's really not worth the money, you could much cheaper, take the lenses apart and put in a board of leds for around 50 bucks for both sides. I have those exact lenses and thought about pulling them apart but then.....WHO CARES, alot of new cars have leds and no one notices...what a waste of time. I like my halogen bulbs....nice and bright about twice as bright as the regular bulbs. Also that led board is very noticably flat, the lens is not = goofy for those that know and would turn their heads. Better to make a board that filled and curved to the lens, that would be worth paying money, well maybe.

Interesting taillights.

My last two "accidents" were some guy(s) absentmindedly hitting me in the rear. I84 East near Hartford, CT and a local 3 lane here in West Palm Beach, FL. No real damage to my stock bumper but "CRUNCH" to front grill and headlights. Kaymar only way to beef up non-wheeler rig?

Just some *observations*:

1. The users "ranma21", "NickyDeNick", and "CougarCruiser97" all answered in quick succession to LX_TREME's post (all within 20 minutes of the original post). This may not seem suspicious in itself, but:

2. The three above mentioned users all *happened* to join the forum the same day this topic was posted, 4/18/05

3. You will notice that a few of the above mentioned users have more than one post to their name, but, if you look more closely, you will see that ALL of those prior posts were posted within a few minutes to a few hours around the time this thread was started, and are mostly "fluff questions"

4. NickyDeNick and ranma21 write with a style similar to that of LX_TREME

5. LX_TREME's response to ranma21's "Newbie Self introduction!!" post happened within 3 minutes of the topic being posted

-----------

Having said all that, please draw your own conclusions. Remember- these are just my observations. ;)

LX_TREME- personally, I think the taillights are interesting. Not something I would want, but definitely interesting. A word of advice: if you suspect a negative response to a thread you want to start, just grin and bear it- you never know who will *really* be interested.

Sherlock Holmes out.

Am I your evil twin?

Hey LX_TREME, you are so busted this time...
