Hello all. I’m new to the forum and LC’s overall. My 4Runner was getting a bit cramped on camping trips so I picked up a 2001 LX470. I tackled front and rear rotors and pads this week and learned LC’s are a bit different than my 4Runner🤣. I decided I would flush the brake fluid after, and after failing at doing it like any other vehicle I’ve done I was back here researching. I’m still having an issue getting fluid to come out of the drivers side rear caliper. I got a 1/4 cup out and nothing has come out since. What read to do was turn the key to on, let the pump prime, press and hold the pedal down and bleed. Passenger rear worked fine. I tried removing the key and Turing back to on and still nothing out of drivers rear. Proceeded to do the front with key in on and doing the usually 2 person method (press and hold, open bleeder, pedal to the floor, tighten bleeder, repeat) and all went well. Could there be a clog in the system or am I missing a step? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Shaun

Welcome!

If bleeder cap, not keep on at all times. Bleeders, clog with mud and rust. More so, the rears than fronts.

I keep extra OEM rear bleeders on hand, and rubber bleeder caps. Bleeder, can be removed and cleaned out "sometimes". But, fluid will drip out open bleeder port, if no bleeder in port.

I torque each bleeder, as I go, to ~10ft-lbf

When done bleeding brakes. I blow, with HP, the brake fluid from out of each bleeder. Then blow out bleeder, with brake cleaner using the straw supplied with can. Blow out with HP air again. Then add WD40 into bleeder and cap.
