Coming along nicely
20150219_164851.jpg used stock pins from stock shackles pressed into some extended plate.

leds are fun

Nice truck. I just joined the Cruiser family with my first - 1987 FJ60. Also an Aggie up here in Cache Valley. Maybe I'll see you around.

I picked up some wheels locally in good shape with the clips still attachEd. Sanded them up and started to paint

I'll use these with the new tires I've got as well as the new hubcaps.

My Wife was nice enough to buy me a "DashCap" from cruiser corps for old blue as the interior was lacking some spit polish.

I also bought a trim piece from George at Valley Hybrids to go around my heater controls. The old was was cracked in a bunch of places.

I also got my wheels swapped and have the 31s back on. I miss the size but the 31s were brand new and they look good on the truck with the new wheels and the shiny hubcaps. Also got a spare tire holder that wasn't rusted solid. Put a spare back on the truck. So happy!

I'm liking your progress. Can you give me a little lead on your shackles? I'm looking for something similar for my saggy rear end.

They were really fun to make. You can buy some that are pre made from different vendors but I did it a little differently.

Midnight4x4.com is a local shop.
I bought these shackles. http://midnight4x4.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=13&products_id=350

They had the wrong size holes but I knew I could fix that.

I bought a new pair of OEM shackles from Kurt at www.cruiseroutfitters.com
Part# SH60050 - $28.50 ea. (non-greasable)
http://www.cruiseroutfitters.com/suspension.html

Since I'm local Kurt let me come to his shop and press out the pins then we drilled out the holes to the correct size.
These are cool they actually neck down so you can't over tighten and bend them like other shackles do by just putting bolts through.

Total Overkill but fun none the less.
I finished them off with some new Old Man Emu bushings and since I was using the stock pins they all fit perfectly without have to cut or trim or do anything funky!

I painted them and installed them and they are perfect. It is just a bandaid but I think I'll still use them with the full suspension kit I'll put on this summer!

Hope that helps.

P.S. Kurt Rocks! Don't mess around anywhere else and just call him!

I wanna see this thing! I pass through Lehi 2x a week

I did more work over the weekend installed an add a leaf from cruiser Outfitters its a d2xl it's normally for an Old Man Emu spring pack but I put it in to gain a little bit of extra load capacity I wasn't looking so much for height but for the ability to carry more camping gear I think it turned out well.

Installed in third position and removed the bottom overload leaf
