Details to follow

:pig: Looks solid :bounce2:

Ty's or Chars? Looks in decent kit! A wee bit smokey...
What are the plans?

This little piggy is mine… not sure on plans just yet. get to know it for now. Drives pretty good as is.. needs some brake adjustment and that sorta thing but generally pretty solid…

I have al sorts of crazy ideas
version one:
sprung over on 35's
456 diffs ARB front detroit rear in a full floater.
6.0l chev 4l60 split case with low gears….
60 series power steering….

you're gonna have to organize a 55 run next year! Maybe a run across Alberta on the 55th parallel? Prolly no roads for that.

Or you could go here -> Trans-Taiga Road

The Northern terminus of the Trans Taiga road is near the 55th Parallel. It's also over 700km from a gas station.

So got
Hamlet hoisted tonight. Loose knuckle on one side. Loose wheel bearings on the other. Rear diff is terrible loose too. Other than that... Looks really good underneath. Frame is solid.

So plan is to run the stock front axle. Add 6 shooters and chromoly axles and concert to disk brakes. Likely toss in my arb with 4.56 gears and spring it all over for good measure. Set the pinion level with oodles of castor to make it drive nice. I ha e everything in stock parts wise. Should make a pretty tough axle. Add some wheel spacers for width and find some 35s.

For the rear l run the semi float in the short term with 456 diff and a lock right long term it will get troopys current rear axle with better drum brakes, full float design and a Detroit locker.

Since the f is running so well now I'll plan on the driveline mods first. Once they get looked after I can tackle the engine and or body.

Should be a neat wheeler

Going to have to start a wrenchality tv show called ToyotaTyler! There's a 3b 5spd donor for you in SK, see Rocdocs post in for sale thread.

Apparently you don't have enough projects! :)

I guess you have 3 acres to fill though.

Ahhh, someday....

A quick look shows I have 4 extra panes of quarter glass, and one gasket that is likely usable. I might have more gaskets buried, but I doubt it. Let me know if you can use.....

Tube-ish fenders up front?

That's awesome curt. I'll take a couple glass pieces and any weather stop your willing to part with. I'll plan on ordering a few windshield gasket as I've hear you can cut them up to use as quarter seals.

Has hamlet out last night. Blew a water hose and it ran practically dry. Heat gauge never got close to red but I'm worried I did some overheat damage.

I'd have to look at some tube fenders. Was hoping to just run stock stuff but I'm an easy sell

Very good, I'll try to get a care package off in the next few days. :)

If there's no h20 in the block, there's nothing to make the gauge move...air is a pretty bad conductor! Hope you didn't "season" it too bad!
You two will be fighting for pig parts now!

That's funny. Great minds think alike. I rarely am on here anymore so I hadn't seen this post when I told Curtis that we'll have to team up with the guy in Calgary I met at one of the RMLCA meetings with the grey and white 55 for a "Running of the Swines" sooner than later.

I suspect it would be wise to put Rottingham back into storage and bury those NOS 55 mirrors I have somewhere out in the back 40.

Sept 71. How'd you narrow it down? (I only know about my 73).

No quarter vents, small reverse lights all point to pre-'72, but the grille does not have the built in running lights.

Quarter vents came in 9/72
Small reverse lights ran until 9/72
The grille w/ running lights I guess only ran for '68 & '69, but I thought I saw some '70 with them.

So I guess I got lucky, it could have been a '70, '71 or '72!
