Hi. I just stumbled across this clubhouse. I've been in Summerville SC for a little over a year and a half now. I currently have three cruisers and trying to trim the heard. Hope to see you guys out and about!

Holy crap! I've seen you driving the 45 out by the airport and on Miles Jamieson Rd. Been wondering when/if you'd pop up in the clubhouse. Cool rims on the 100 and interesting project with the 80 (looks like one of Slee's past projects call Vlakvark I think). Got any details on the Troopy?

Thanks! The Troopy is a 79 with 2f, H42 conversion, currently off the road, the alternator went out so I decided it was time to rip out the painless wiring harness and get the original wiring back to normal.

For sure. When is the next meet up?!
Actually we were just discussing this the other day... We intentionally kept the schedule open since summertime is so stinking hot. I'd be up for meeting at a restaurant or something. My night shift rotation ends this Friday and then I'm back to a normal schedule.

Every day and any day; name a burger / BBQ or brewery and you are sure to get some responses.

I'm on Folly Beach this weekend looking for Moon

Wednesdays are good for me...we had talked about Bessingers car show this Wed....??

Hey guys here is my first post so be easy on me. Its in regards to my 60. I had a 79 40 with a Weber 32/36 and it ran like a top. I am trying to get the 60 up to par. Previous owner had already added a 32/36 and did a half @$$ desmog. I would have gone factory carb Jim C rebuild but its what i got for now. I added header ripped off the rest of the smog stuff, replaced alternator and installed a Jim C smog pump eliminator pulley. SO... here my issues. It idles and starts when cold perfect but i have a dead spot from 1800-2200 RPM primarily only in 3rd and 4th gear. Also has the occasional backfire. Timing issues? Has anyone gone aftermarket on the distributor and been happy? This is the only 60 i have ever driven and not sure if its just a gearing issue? OK ill shut up and see what yall say. Thanks ahead of time!

Dan

Could be a timing issue, most likely a carb issue, though. Timing is easy enough to check. Marshall has aftermarket distributors and carbs for a decent price. If I have a problem on the 40 that's what I will run.
Good luck

^^What David said. Start with the timing, replace the points, new plugs, and then worry about tuning the carb. I recently installed a Trollhole Dizzy to replace my points distributor. I have been nursing a Weber 38 for 2 years; I need to install the Trollhole carb and be done with it.

I'm free tomorrow afternoon to meet up for a beer or burger. Just got the troopy running again after an alternator swap, so she needs to stretch her legs. Anyone down for a cold one?

Totally, but we are headed for Florida... How about during the week? My 40 is practically finished and I will need to stretch its legs as well. Of course, driving the 40 is not a prerequisite for me... Anyhow, plenty of good beer places here in Summerville.

So close...
