If you’re talking about the tan high-roof probably somebody else. That one is in a container with a two-tone one somewhere in the Med.

Yep. That’s the one I’m talking about. Must be another guy with good tastes. Look forward to meeting up with everyone again.

Hello Dan directed me to the clubhouse. I didn’t realize there was a Lowcountry Chapter. I vaguely remember a Swampfox chapter from many years ago, but I was never involved, and it seems they are inactive now.

I am in Mount Pleasant and have several cruisers (technically 6), but I am looking to sell two of them since I have a container with two more on the way. I am particularly interested in 1986-1990 non-US spec FJ62s.

My high-roof model is finishing up at the paint and body shop and will soon receive a power plant upgrade to a 2UZFE V8. Based on its production date, it appears to have been manufactured within the first four weeks of the FJ62 line coming off the assembly line.

Would be interested in helping get more folks involved with this club.

Is one of these for sale on long point?

Hello Everyone! I wanted to introduce myself as I’m an active TLCA member from the Richmond, VA area (Bay to Blue Ridge Cruisers) but Mt. Pleasant has been our 2nd home for the past few years. We are here in town often and I’m always impressed with the quantity of tasteful TEQ I see everywhere we go. There is a very good chance Mt.P becomes our permanent residence this summer, so I’ll be looking to remain as active in the Cruiser community as we are back in VA. Even when I’m permanently here in the Lowcountry I’ll be traveling often for any and every TLCA event I can make up and down the eastern seaboard, with the occasional big trip out West as well. Anyway, here are my 2 current rigs:

- ‘96 triple locked LX450 for the crazy stuff
- ‘20 GX460 for daily, overland and slightly milder duty (for now)

Look forward to meeting some of these nice rigs I see around town in the near future!

What’s up! Don’t get over to Mt P too often (unless I’m sent on a TJs or Grimaldis run) but hope to see you around! Solid rigs!

Awesome man..I’m back of Brickyard on Horlbeck Creek..2nd dock down (around the bend on the South Side) from Boone Hall. Most likely bringing the green Lex 80 to Relic…VA Tobacco plate ‘SOVA80’…stop by for a damn fine bourbon and I look forward to meeting up!

So it’s affirmative Mt. P will become our permanent home this August. I’ll still make every event I can with my BBRC guys from here in RVA, but really hoping to continue a high level of TLCA and Club related involvement in my new location. I’m really looking forward to meeting you guys and hopefully getting involved with your Club.

Also hope to meet some of you at Relic Run in 2 weeks. Green LX450 with the BBRC group, ‘SOVA 80’ on the plates. I haven’t broken the news to those guys yet but what better time.

Cheers!

there will be several of us at Relic next week. hope to meet up.
I'll be the one winning all the raffle prizes lol

Delivered my 80 down to our new place in Mt. P this past week with a few days of NC beaching in between. Currently sitting riverside in the garage (far from the mountains and boulders she’s used to 🤣) while we get stuff settled over the next month back up in VA. We’ll be around town often once I get back and look forward to meeting our fellow enthusiasts.

PS: as fate would have it, right north of the entrance of our neighborhood (Brickyard) there sits a nice red 80 (and 100) for sale on the side of 17. Then riding around our neighborhood streets getting our bearings, came across a house I need to become friends with. Nicely modified, clean 80 sitting in a driveway next to a nice GX and few other Yotas. Lady and her son in the driveway dropped their jaws in shock to see another 80 turning around in their random cul de sac. Will need to give them more than a friendly wave next time for sure.

Nice! Cool to hear there’s a neighborhood full of cruisers!
Keep us posted. The lowcountry has plenty of cruiser heads but getting together seems to be challenging.
Would love to get something going!

Hey Everyone!
My name is Henry and I just picked up a 1976 FJ40. It’s stock and been garage kept for the last 26 years. It has some service rust that needs to be addressed but body panels and frame all seem solid.

Plans are to keep it mostly stock. Starting off with a bikini top and eventually a soft top but gotta figure out half door and rear gate/door situation. What do people do for rear doors/gate with a soft top while also retaining ability to put ambulance doors back on? Eventually maybe a mild 1.5-2” lift and is bigger tires but it’s a pretty decent ride right now.

I hope to see yall around town and attend a future meet up!

I am definitely interested. Not sure how feasible it is to switch between hard top and soft top twice a year (prob November and April).
