hello from a 4runner driver

Hello everyone, I'm Dave. I just moved to Tempe from Kelowna, B.C. Canada. I'll be down here at ASU for the year. My rig is a 1990 4runner. Just before I left to come down, I got the 3.4L swap done on the truck. There are a few bugs to be worked out post-swap before I can take it offroad, but I look forward to exploring some AZ trails once that's done! I'm a novice off-road driver, but am interested in acquiring some experience. I plan to drop by to the October CSC cruise-in at the sonic drive in October. Here is the description of my engine swap, which my mechanic put up on yotatech: toyotafiberglass - Davids 4Runner - YotaTech Forums

Looking forward to meeting you!

Good to meet everyone at last Friday's meet.

Hey everyone, I just wanted to post a quick note say that I really enjoyed meeting all the people that I had a chance to introduce myself to at this past Friday's meet at Sonic: Scott, Brittan, Brian, Clif, Phil, Lorne, Juan, are the names that I can remember (I think). If I forgot anyone, or got any names wrong, it is due to my limited memory.

Thanks particularly to Brian for all the advice about 4runners with 3.4 swaps. And to everyone with suggestions on novice places to go wheeling: Montana Mountain, Four Peaks, and Saguaro.

I want to get the torsion bars and front manual hubs done on my truck before I start asking you all to let me come out with you, but once that is done I look forward to getting out on some runs.

Glad to have met ya! And I'll probably actually remember the name this time:p

Get those mods done and out on the dirt!

It was very nice to have met you, as well, Dave. Looking forward to your ongoing buildup and joining us on the trail!

BTW, the ECU hasn't thrown that CEL code we were talking about since I went back to using at least 89+ octane gasoline!

Hey Brian, Thanks for the further info on that CEL issue! Next time I fill up I will go with 89+ to see if it makes any difference. In the meantime I have been trying to find an O.E. intake (airbox, MAF, & air hose) from a auto recycler somewhere in AZ or a neighboring state, without any luck so far. A lot of these places don't have the second hand part in stock, but want to sell me a "new" aftermarket replacement. It has been frustrating. Anyway, if you're at the meet this Friday, I will see you there. Cheers, Dave.

Can I hang around?

Picked up this 91 from another Mud member a few months ago, it did not look like this when received, many hours spend getting it to this point.

This is how she currently looks, just dropped off my diff's to Zuk tonight for some 5.29's and then a Powertrax No-Slip on the rear. Also, I am doing the knucles at the same time, what a mess.

Not sure I will make the next meeting, it may still be torn down but I will be there eventually.

Lots of great runs in Nov\Dec that I wish I had been ready for, soon enough.

Next up will be some home made sliders, an ATV ramp roof rack and then some interior work, CB, dualband, rear storage etc.

Home base is way up north in Anthem.

Hello my name is Michael Kreitz and I am new to the club.

I found the club through Murf at Camelback Toyota. A couple guys on the forum recommended him to install the lift on my 100. The 100 turned out great (thanks Murf) but she is now too pretty to 'wheel'.

So far I have had a 96 LX450, a 06 100 and now a (wheeling only) 95 FJ-80. Murf is working on the lift and tires on that truck as we speak.

I am originally from Maryland, divorced no kids. I live in N. Phoenix and hope to make it out with the club fairly regularly now that I have a 'wheeling' rig.

Other than that I work at DIRECTV corporate, so let me know if anyone needs a discount on new service (it is small but every bit counts)

Welcome aboard Mike to the asylum

Welcome Mike. Your first act should be posting the video of the J10 filling the Jeep JK with water, let people see that alcohol and wheeling don't go together.

MIke was my co-pilot for yesterdays run and is a great guy. he was also impressed with the quality/like-mindedness of folks in our club.

I knew he was ok when he had met up with some Jeep people in the past and didnt feel comfortable with them like he does with our crazy group. :hillbilly:
