New Iron Pig Registered

I thought that I introduced myself already, but I don't see my post or pictures. I am a new 55 owner and looking to maximize the awesomeness of it. The rig is at a suspension shop getting some deaver leafs and some new shocks put on, so I should have it back by the end of the month. Already met up with John B, looking forward to meeting everyone in the CSC.

I just got back to Arizona after being in the Military as a USAF TACP Jtac. I'm looking forward to finishing out my school at ASU and hitting the trails with all you guys. I'm a huge newbie so I'll be asking for help from everyone I'm sure. I'll attach a pic of the Pig so you know what I'm working with and a couple pics of Iraq & Afghanistan to show what's kept me out of the beautiful state of AZ for six years.

Introducing ourselves -- Eric & Cheryl Eberhard

We are in Camp Verde. We also spend a lot of time in our cabin near Parks. We have three trucks that qualify us for this group. We have a 1980 truck we bought new (we are the only owner of an historic car, makes us feel old). It has 3 inch lift, 33" tires, detroit locker in the rear, posi in front, traction bars, bored to 22r specs with Weber carb, Offenhauser manifold, off-road grind cam, and headers. We have a 1981 BJ42 with 5 speed, power steering, and disc brakes that we just imported from Canada. We have added an AXT turbo, ARB front/rear, A/C, ARB Bull Bar and Warn winch. We are in the process of lots of "clean ups", adding carpet, then an Old Man Emu suspension and 33 inch tires. We have a 2003 Land Cruiser we bought new and other than Toyo Open Country M/T tires, is stock. It is our reliable long distance Cruiser -- it is unbelievable at highway speeds in snow/ice, etc. We no longer do "hard core" wheeling -- defined as you can't do it without body damage or using the winch constantly. We did that a lot when we were young ... not so crazy any more. We still go out on medium challenging drives, mostly to enjoy the outdoors. I am not sure how active we will be in the club, but it looks like it could be fun. Eric & Cheryl

Great rigs....Welcome :bounce:

Howdy All-

Hi everybody- I'm another newbie :flipoff2: from Prescott. For those of you around town, I'm the white one with
the massive Thule bike rack mounted on the back.... and the Busted Knuckle Garage license plate on the front.

I'm just on here looking for some advice about things that I can do to my Crusher, as well as local help with
anything that I can't do myself...

A little background. I drive a stock '91 Land Cruiser, but I'm looking at making some changes.
I love my rig already, without mods, but I'm starting to prepare to mod it out.
I've got a huge list of upgrades that I want to do, but limited money, so I'm working on it step by step.

I'd love any help from anybody up in Prescott or any of the nearby towns.... I'm even willing to come down to
Phoenix for the big stuff like suspension and Birf rebuilds...

Since I'm out of the country, my rents have been using my truck, so here it is on the street after snow...

I'm all for using in excess... and I spent a considerable amount of time transplanting that tree to have it die on me...
and it was too deeply rooted to pull out by hand.... go big or go home...

Sadly this 80 is staying with my parents, but I have caught the Toyota bug...

My main concern is power and gas mileage. I know that the stock engine works, but what do you guys know about swaping engines, to a V8? Is there local support in Prescott, or would I have to go to Phoenix? Unfortunately I won't be able to work on my truck until July, so everything is Hypothetical until then.... I'm looking foreward to coming to a meeting sometime.... :flipoff2:
hey put a v-8 in there and what mileage :flipoff2:welcome !

Hi everyone. I just traded up from a 4Runner into an 80. I've had my 1992 FJ80 for just over a week and really love it. It was taken care of and the PO spent the past two years base lining it. The front axle was serviced in March with a new passenger birf. I'm getting clicking in the driver's side, so I'll have to get in there myself to inspect and most likely replace.

It has a new radiator, alternator, battery and a/c system. The PO to the PO put on 33x12.5 ProComp mud terrain tires without a lift. Too big for the wheel wells and they started to tear out the flares. Those are now off the truck and a set of 285 Nitto TG's are now in there and fit much nicer. In addition to addressing the clicking, I need to replace the brake booster, front brake pads, a rear wheel stud and the shocks are no good. I will address the shocks with a 2.5" lift from Slee. The 3FE responded pretty good to getting the wide mud tires off. It seems to have almost as much ooomph as my 3.4L with 4.56 gears pushing 315 tires on my old Runner. So I'm already used to needing some patience when driving. If you're thinking this truck sounds familiar, you are correct. I bought it from Fiveo.

The whole family (all 6 of us) can now fit in my truck and we can get back out to exploring old mines, ghost towns, geocaching and off-roading.

I'm Back!!

Hello Again
My name is Ray, I live in Gilbert and I've not been on the Forum for many mouths. Sold my FJ40 about 6 mouths ago and now just bought an FJ Cruiser. Mostly stock and will most likely stay that way but it's got factory sliders, skid plates and a rear locker so will be out wheel with some of you again soon. Nice to be back!

Welcome back Ray!

Hello, my name is Tony and my better half is Melissa. We bought an 80 back in October and I have been under it since I bought it when I am not hunting. We are engaged to be married... not me and the Cruiser but Melissa and I... and are looking to hook up with local people since we are new to this. My ride was abused by PO's by sitting for a while in California before my PO purchased it. He did some work to it as well as the PO's before him but nobody completed anything. Well I am proud to say I have completed all the work started and then some!!

We look forward to meeting everyone... as soon as I fix the oil pump cover leak.
