Moving back to Yuma, Az

I'm not in Yuma yet but I have orders back to Yuma this July. I was stationed at MCAS from 2000 to 2004 and I've been stationed in Jacksonville, FL from 2004 till now. I look forward to wheeling with you guys. I know of a few cool places to wheel around YPG and the Wash. My 4Runner is built for anything. I'll be installing dual t cases, 30 spline longs and hydro assist steering this month. The only think that'll be left to do to my 4Runner afterwards would be a engine swap cause the 3.0L V6 isn't a best engine Toyota has made.

A short bit about myself, I'm 30 years old and in the US Marine Corps been offroading since I was a kid with my dad. I'm married with a 3 year old daughter. I have owned a few 4wd's in the past starting with a 1989 Jeep wrangler (stock) , 92 Ford Ranger (ARB lockers F&R), 91 FJ80 Landcruiser (stock), 84 Toyota pickup (33" swampers lockers and more), and the 4wd that I own now is a 91 4Runner.

You're welcome and thank you for your support.

The wheels are from USA6x6. I really like them and the trires which I think has a bad rep. are really good for the money. I need to get some rock rings for protect the bolts but other then that they are great, the ride isn't much diff. then my old 32" BFG mts and stock SR5 wheels.

Are they beadlocks? Double beadlocks? price? diameter? specs?

They are double beadlocks, 16.5 x 9 7/8 but they can make that as wide as you want, I paid $500 for all four shipped to my house (ebay) and USA6x6 sells them for $150 each. The beadlock inserts are injection molded plastic and are a PITA to install but I've aired down to near flat PSI and haven't had a problem. For balancing I used Dyna beads and they ride just as smooth as the 32" BFG's at all speeds, I've had it up to 85 once on the highway with a shake or vib other that my rear driveline.

USA6x6's link http://www.usa6x6.com/ (There is bad post about them on pirate but I didn't have a problem with them and would/will buy from them)

I got the Dyna Beads from here, http://www.innovativebalancing.com/

When the 36" RT II's wear out I'm going to go with a 37" Irocs. The really good thing about the 36" RT II's is the price, they sell brand new sets on ebay for $275 and I paid $419 for (4) shipped to my house. They are a very soft tire and are said to have weak side walls.

Thanks ....are they derived from H1 wheels?

Yes they are recentered Humvee wheels. They cut the 8 lug centers out and press in 6 lug or what ever patern you want in then weld them in place.

Is anyone in or close to Yuma?

Not close to Yuma, but I am a new guy. New to the board, but not new to 4x4's or Toyota. I hear this is a 4Runner friendly board, no?

Hey all - referred here by Josh, who I just scored some rims from this evening. My 4x4 for the last 5 years has been my 97 4Runner SR5. I've done a few improvements, although I think Toyota usually does a pretty good job the first time around. Its going on 140k, just breaking it in. Previous Toys have included an 86 MR2 and an 87 4x4.

I was an aircraft mechanic by trade (the heavys) but I left the airlines (not entirely by choice) last year and I'm now working with a concrete contractor. Also, I'm relatively new to AZ. I moved out here last summer from the east coast. Been to Crown King on my quad but I know I have a LOT more exploring to do. Hope to meet some of you along the way.

Jon

Can't believe I forgot. Future plans include an LC in the family. Probably a late 70's or early 80's two door (FJ40 maybe) that I'd like to restore to close to stock for a daily driver. Next month I'm pouring more concrete at the house... storage for more toys!

WELCOME!
Glad you found the board! If you get a chance, head on down to Sonic for the Meeting/Tire Kick tonight. Hope thoses rims work out for ya.

www.myspace.com/bluegrenade

Hello all,
I wanted to introduce myself as a new member. I am new to the Arizona area and part of the mass exodus from Los Angeles. I love cars in general. Since the FJ Cruiser has come out I've been a fan. Toyota does not make a bad rig. I am a converted Jeeper.
Please check out my mysace page to view pictures of my FJ and let me know what you think. www.myspace.com/bluegrenade
List of mods included All Pro coilover kit. All Pro bumpers front and rear. Warn 9.5 winch. 35 inch BFG Mudd Terrains on 17x9 Pro Comp Black Alloys. All Pro high clearence exhaust.
I wanted to send out special thanks to FST Fabrication in Phoenix. They did some of the cleanest work I have ever seen. They took care of the front body mount revisions, rear diff cover, and fabricated bump stop extensions. They were professional and fast. Ask for Torrie if you are planning to run 35's or larger. I would love the chance to wheel with the group. Please let me know when the meets are and when its time for the dirt.
Matt

Welcome to Phx and welcome to the the CSC. hope to see you out at AZRocks and at the next meeting.

Thanks for the welcome

I'm trying to work out the AZRocks trip already. My wife just had our third daughter 1 week ago. Can I just come out for the day? I believe the event is two days right. Let me know if anything else is coming.
Thanks,
Matt

Sure. no problem just coming out for a day. Just plan on getting there early, most runs leave early IIRC 8-9am.

FJ Cruiser

Hello, my name is Kathy. My hubbie Dan and I bought an FJ Cruiser in November. We are still all stock:frown: , but we were at the pavillions on Saturday night and got all kinds of ideas on what to get and where to start.

So, since we don't really do too much off-roading yet, we will start with the easy trails. We do take it camping to where ever we can though!

New to AZ and the site here. I live in Prescott and am new to Toys and 4x4's. I have a stock 1983 Longbed with 22r, my daily driver. Hopefully some mods will come in the near future (got a new house and baby girl right now). Nice to meet everyone.

Welcome all.....look forward to meeting you at the next sonic meet.

Hello everyone, I’m Dan and just wanted to introduce myself and my fiancé Jessa. Some of you already know us, we just never signed on to Ih8Mud.
We live in Queen Creek and pretty much work all day everyday. If anyone is going to do a trail in the Queen Creek area on the weekends, just hit us up… Currently we are mostly stock but that will soon change…
Jessa and I love to go 4x4ing and love to take pictures.
