Recently joined the forum, and today paid for my first 40. Should arrive mid June. Found it by posting a "wanted" ad in this forum's classifieds.
Grew up working in dad's 4x4 wrecking yard/parts accessories store. Started around age 10, paid 25 cents/hr. and eventually $1/hr. Taking apart FJs, Jeeps, Internationals, et al to be pressure washed on a south-facing concrete pad. Hot water, triple digit temps, so much fun. Then marking the parts and onto the shelf. Always excited to find loose change in the cigarette tray (remember those) and glovebox.
Dad drove several FJs before slowly switching to single cab long bed Toyotas. I remember one FJ breaking down after driving for hours through Oregon at high speed. The 4.11 gears had enough! We're mostly a Toyota family, plenty of 6-ft bed trucks and 4Runners with 300,000+ miles. I've wanted to get back to an old Toyota, back to the good childhood memories, for years. Driving mega HP AWD twin turbo cars, EVs and looking at giant screens has/had their place in my life, but a simple reliable boxy Toyota as a "fun car" was always an end goal. Think this is my first car with manual windows, no airbags, no cameras and no desire to tint the windows since my college Toyota access cab short bed which I drove coast to coast twice.
Here is a link to my incoming 40. Not a fan of black cars, wanted white/tan/green, but to me this looks like a Hot Wheels FJ. Supposedly only 3 of its kind ever made. Oh, on a related note, spoke to Jeremiah Proffitt today AND saw this truck in episode 78 of his show. Parked in a row while he mentioned this website!

All Original One Of A Kind 1983 FJ40 LX - Proffitt's Resurrection Land Cruisers
OK, I'll admit to being a little obsessed with this one. It's got so much going on that's interesting to hard core Toyota enthusiasts like me. First of all, It's a rare LX model, imported from Saudi a long time ago. The LX models were unique to Japan, Australia, and the Middle East. They were...
