I was having some rattles on startup when the HVAC would turn on. I ended up having to replace the front blower motor and haven't heard that rattle since.

Did you do the replacement yourself? How difficult was the replacement?

I've replaced blowers on my tundra and my lexus gs. Three or four bolts and a plug. It was easy to reach from under the dash/glovebox on those. Can't speak for access on the LC. Might as well check it for debris or leaf before you buy a new one.

It was pretty easy. I actually had my glove box out for remote start install. I think there was a parking sensor ecu below mine, so that had to come out too. Go with OEM...I tried an Oreillys brand and it was no good.

Does the sound stop when you turn the AC fan off? My blower is going out and makes a rattle at the lower speeds. I have a new blower fan assembly sitting in my garage but haven't got around to installing it yet.

The sound stops when I turn the climate control off.

What price did y'all pay for your assembly? I see $137 on toyotapartsdeal.com for PN 87103-60390. I think I need to replace on of the actuators on the upper passenger side vents too.

I went to my local dealer because I was tired of having my glove box out of the car after dealing with the Oreillys brand and the dealer charged me right under $170. The Oreillys one was $120 (black plastic) and had a metal counter weight on one of the fan blades.
OEM is white and no counter weights.

Make sure to take a damp cloth and wipe down the inside of the housing when you pull the old blower motor out. It is possible that the off balance fan left some debris behind. If I remember correctly, you tilt the fan towards the front and 'roll' it into the housing to install it.

I am now in the same boat as many of you... and to help anyone doing a parts number search in the future,

HVAC Blower Motor - Toyota (87103-60481)
2008-2016 Toyota Land Cruiser - 8710360481 Replaces 87103-60390

and for context... $141 is the best price I could find.

Can verify the one  job to replace fan motor.

Step 1 is to remove the bracket with the red control module out of the way. You dont need to disconnect it.

Step 2 is to remove the 3 screws securing the current blower motor to the housing. If you use the side closest to you as the pivot point, with a little finessing it will come out firewall end first. The you can unplug the connection to the blower.

Install is reverse of the removal.
