Thank you everyone in advance for your help with this! I have a 78 that has the stock motor and stock electronic ignition system in it. I was driving it and all the sudden it the motor died. I tried to start it and after a minute it started right up. I finished my drive with it happening one more time. Then on my drive home it died again while driving and would not restart, fortunately I was able to coast all the way home.

Last night it would not start so I started tinkering with it. I have fuel and everything looks great that way. I pulled a spark plug wire and stuck a screwdriver in it to see if I was getting spark. For about the first 10 seconds of cranking there was no spark and then it started right up even with only five cylinders. I shut of the cruiser and put the plug on and it would not start again.

All of the connections are in good condition in the ignition system. I was wondering what suggestion you may have? I was thinking that my coil of ignition module could have failed. I do not have anyone around my area besides myself who can help me with this so any help would be much appreciated!

Time to bust out the FSM and test the coil and ignitor, you will probably find one fails the test.
