intermittant heater fan problem (1 Viewer)

The heater/A/C fan intermittently cuts of when used in one of the 3 lower fan speed settings.

The light for the depressed setting will go off, but the button stays depressed.
When i press the hi button, it all starts working again, and then the lower settings will work again as well, for awhile.

I'm not familiar with the 80 fan workings, but on 40's, when the hi/lo resistor goes, only hi will work. I'm wondering if this is something similar?

I've heard of this problem once or twice and it was the control mechanism. I don't believe you can replace just the resistor.

So the only way to know if this is the problem is to buy the part and replace it?

Cdan? I'd be callin you anyway, if you read this, would you mind?

If its inexpensive enough, thats what I'll do.
