I'm sure these are great. I can't ignore the 60+% price difference though. For what I plan to do with them, I'm looking at Luke's right now, assuming they come finished for $400. Have tons of respect for the HQ's though.

Great! If they are in my budget I am in for a DIY pair. Price?

Here's a picture of my prototype design. Ken has been involved from the beginning, so he knows the dates and who did what.

This is really my idea that was taken to production by Ken. The concept/idea is one thing-- there is all the work to make it a real product- so HQ made that happen.

All I have to say is that I hope you support the originator of the product.
Not only because it's our original product but because it's the best.

Lessons learned from using my prototype and developing with Ken.

The DIY version would be bare metal and need to be welded and assembled. The "kit" would include all hardware and need no cutting, drilling or tube bending. Shipping would also be a bit cheaper as the package would be smaller. DIY pair $549 compared to $649 for a ready to install pair.

Are you saying similar products (is there more than one?) were copied from this one and not original creations?

Do you have a ballpark estimate for the time needed to assemble a DIY kit? I know it would depend a lot on the skill level of the individual, but a basic idea like "around x hours for someone with some welding skills" or similar would be helpful.

Or alternatively, just the total number of welds needed would be useful to gauge the overall effort.

Thanks!

Original means where the idea came from? Me.
Original product available to you? Ken.

This is our design and idea.
All that work, the fun for me was designing and developing with Ken.
I have all the sketches, emails and conversations over the years to prove it.
(Years! Man, how long it takes when you do it 'just for fun')

are these still around? i am very interested
