Interesting CarPlay option for US?!? Alpine out of Australia

Somehow this popped up in my Instagram feed, an Alpine vehicle specific head unit for LC200 >2016 out of Australia.... Don't know if it would work in US models or with our trim levels, but it does make for a very interesting option for those that want to completely jettison the factory setup.

Alpine i905 for LandCruiser 200 Series

I just had the Beat Sonic CarPlay adapter unit hooked up and like it overall, but even as nice as it is, still feels like a bit of a hack. I have run Alpine in my vehicles for 30+ years, so I am intrigued to say the least.

@40Man I figured as much, but damn it if it wouldn’t we worth a try. Out of curiosity why the certainty that it wouldn’t be compatible? I would say because of the climate integration, but I’d almost be willing to try and source the climate control panel from an Aussie LC to install this thing… But then again, I’m sure I’m then down a rabbit hole with wiring harnesses, etc. I’d really prefer the physical buttons shown for climate in the product shots… HATE having to adjust the A/C speed with the touch screen.

Damn Aussies get Steve Irwin and Alpine integration and 300 series… And we get nothing?!?

Damn this would be sick.

I wish Lexus would do what Porshe is doing and create retro screens to add in. I'd easily pay way over what makes sense for my life or sanity to have a true screen swap, better hardware, apple car play / android auto running replacement that keeps the vehicle looking stock.

Yes, AUS has a different HVAC not integrated into screen control unit. Another member did the project on an older version and it was an expensive project.

God I would love to have more physical HVAC buttons. Integrating everything into the nav is terrible.
