Interest? Rubicon / Moab 2013?

OK...there has been some talk and I just wanted to post this up and see who might be interested.

Here is one group looking to do same thing...may be others...

Right up front I'll be the first to say this is going to be expensive, probably would require people to partner up and split costs, camp out on the way out and back, etc...

Number one issue is transportation.....either by commercial carrier or by personal tow vehicles.

Seems like no matter how you slice it ...its going to be expensive.
I'm just throwing this out there to see who might be interested. Of course this is a serious commitment and would require some major planning and folks to lock down vacation time etc.

I'm thinking its a two week deal at best.

Anyway looking to see if anyone might be serious on trying to do this. I know the club is hosting GMSTR and that everyone is geared up for that, but I wanted to toss this out there to see who might want to see if this is a workable thing.

So give it some thought, I know I will have to plan/save/save some more for this.

We have talked about this at the last meeting, I am thinking about taking the 4 car trailer so there will be 3 spots on it and the option for some of the people to fly out as there is really only room for 3 people in the truck if we are going to drive straight through.

I'm sure there is a lot to discuss...
I'm in... Roger lets discuss if my sleep apenia would be an issue with driving straight through.. I though it would have been so I made other plans on last long trip. For now I would like to say I'm in on the crew to drive out and load on the 4 car trailer...until otherwise noted.

After GMSTR concludes or whenever I would like to narrow down on a time as I need to lock down vacation ASAP.

If for some reason I can't do the straight through drive....then I would like to partner up with someone or group and either convoy or see what can be worked out. Schedule/timing/planning all up in the air...

We have several in Upstate (see the link in the first post) that are interested. That link has dates, etc. of what we intend to do. I am taking the GX470

If we can arrange Roger's hauler and another we could get everyone out pretty affordably. I plan on ship and fly to allow my work schedule to work.

The trailer belongs to STLCA so club members have first shot at it. For planning purposes I will be unloading the trailer at a casino parking lot in South Lake Tahoe, NV. We can Talk at GSMTR.

Apologies for dropping in on the club, was trying to track down a 100 owner registered for GMSTR, but my son and i just started planning a trip to Moab in 2013 and are a bit frustrated with the limited transportation options/costs.

I may be a 5th rate alternate, but regardless will follow your planning in case you guys have a last minute drop out for hauling.

Steve has acquired a 4 car trailer for his truck and plans to take some GA cruisers guys.If we run with him it most likely not be a straight through trip. I think we need to start a private thread so it does not get out of control. One discussion item is Rubicon and Moab or just Moab, if we do both we are talking a 3 week trip.
