I am interested in coming to the area in January or February to check out this area. I will be coming from Phoenix and may have a friend from San Diego meet up with me there. If anyone else interested would like to join us/point out cool stuff, let me know.

Nothing in concrete yet for dates, any suggestions would be great.

Thanks

I might be interested, my cruiser *should* be running by then. I'm not good for much of a guide but would love to explore the area.

I might be interested as well. Subscribed.

Hey Guys,

Anza Borrego is a neat place to take the family on a one nighter.

AB is not hard wheeling, but certainly a good time for the family on a camping trip.

I would like to suggest any of you get in contact with Rufino (aka cruiserruf) He can be a good guide in the area and usually extremely flexiable about going wheeling in So Cal. That joker use to drag me out of my apt in San Clemente and demand that I go wheeling with him. Sometimes he had Anza Borrego, other times Big Bear or Calico in mind. All good times and memories!

Just a thought.

It looks like I'll be in Anza borrego Dec. 27, 28 and 29. Planning on exploring the mud caves in the south west end of the park. Depending on your dates I wouldn't mind heading down there again.

We are into January, any dates for this? Had a lot of fun exploring the mud caves, and definitely am ready to head back down there again!

For planning purposes check out the "maplets" app. You can download the Anza Borrego state park map and the Ocotillo ORV map. You will drive in an out of both areas.

I could possibly swing something at the end of January. Feb is out for me

I have a couple of changes/mods to finish on my truck. I am thing February will be better than January for me. How does Feb 17, 18, and 19 sound? thanks

Feb works for me. I'm still finishing my 3FE swap.

I am going to be in ocotillo wells this sat night through Monday night. If anyone wants to meet up and wheel I'll be there

Those dates work for me. That will be a very busy weekend, especially in the Ocotillo Wells ORV area. The Anza Borrego state park only allows street legal vehicles so not as crowded.

When were you planning to arrive on Friday? What type of camping do you want to do? Dry camping or do you need showers? I'm asking because I can be in Borrego before noon and could try to snag a campsite or two.

You should have some great weather this weekend. Heading for Maui tomorrow, so Borrego will have to wait.

Dry camp is fine with me. Arriving Friday is my plan. I can be there in about 5 hours. I will leave about 6am from Phoenix.

We have a good chance to making those dates. I'm still trying to get the last few parts to try to start my truck after the 3FE swap but by golly it should be running by then.

I'm out here now and the weather is fantastic! I had to drive all the way to salton city to get gas because the main gas station in Ocotillo Wells is out of gas again. The nice thing is that there are plenty of trails that head out that way so there is no need to use the highway.

I have a friend in San Diego with a 2WD Tacoma with the rear locker (TRD). Would he be fine in Anza Borrego? If we new we were going to do anything that would require 4WD, he could just ride with me.

Thanks
