i have a stock 2f with the breather on the drivers side of the grill(stock position) my question would it be better to remove the black breather hose?would it protect it from water better? secondly would it allow more air in because it is not sucking it thru a ridgid hose???? its an 82 fj60... thanks- al

You will get better power and economy with that hose sucking air in from the grill, it prevents you from sucking in hot engine bay air which is combustably less effecient than the cool air coming in your grill. If you are worried about water entrance it's time for a snorkel, best of both worlds.
