well mine has done 330,000 ks and I thrash it so you got at least 100,000 ks to go before you start using a bit of oil like me, so yep barely run in!
I do an average of 600-700ks a week , for 60liters of diesel it costs me $90.00 NZD that lasts me from monday to at least Saturday so my economy is really good , about 8.5-9 litres per 100k, thats on 18-20psi sometimes 22psi on cold mornings
 
Good to hear! I really love the vehicle - just need to do a few more things to fully “trust” it.
 
If you keep up with regular oil changes the bottom end of the 1KZ should last a long time. The head's do go eventually, but they last a lot longer than the 2LTE ones! Not the end of the world, just put a new one on and you're good to go another ~200-300,000km.
 
Yeah they get really gunked up with that EGR. My Jetta was almost completely closed off. It's a wonder it ran at all. It ran WAY better after that.
