Finally dug into my instrument panel to replace the burned out bulbs with LED’s and came across this switch. Anybody have any idea what it does? When I pulled it out it was in the “unmarked” down position. If it’s moved up it would be in the “auto” setting. Any ideas? BTW, it's on the back of my heater control module.

Some Land Cruisers (CE and 40th?) have an auto climate control button in the middle of the control panel where yours is blank. It may be related to that, but I don't know enough about the auto climate control to really say.

I eventually want to change all my dash lights to LEDs too. How bout a write-up how to get to all of them, the quantity and bulb sizes and the polarity for the LEDs?:D

Bulbs are located under the three circles in the picture below. Small standard screw driver and a 1/4 turn counter clockwise and the bulb/assembly comes out. Sometimes you have to turn the whole panel over to get them to fall out.

The A (Auto) and M (Manual) label is on the black plastic cover. Yours is a manual control and needs the switch set to M. If you take the front cover off, there is an auto button that is under your middle blank switch cover. If you get this in the on setting, none of your buttons will work. You could convert your climate controls to auto by setting the switch to A, replace the front cover with the new auto one, and install the probe that goes in the vent space you can see in the lower corner of the control.

Anyone have a complete oem bulb part number list to replace all bulbs in all the panels? Instrument, climate, radio. Don’t like the brightness and harshness of led lights. Want to retain the oem warmer glow.

Many thanks.

They should be T3 or T4 bulbs. they need to be wired wrapped in place. I just did my gear selection lights with incandecent. Mistakenly got the T1, too small but they works perfectly, not too bright.

On Amazon pack of 10
