I'm in the process of going through my new to me 01 LX and recently took a long trip at night and had time to notice all the missing lights in my instruments. Being OCD, I want to have the all the switches illuminated that are supposed to be. Is there a place to buy them other than the dealer? I think I remember reading somewhere that the dealer doesn't even sell them separately?

I'm looking for bulbs for: Mirror switch, Quarter window, PWR 2ND, AHC, Seat Heaters.

I also noticed that there is a bulb out in my climate control. Its the bulb near the rear defroster/heated mirror/ AC area. Anyone know if it is accessible or built in? Just wondering if its worth it to pull it out.

Osram sylvania has a cross reference chart for most of them, your can get them from Toyota as well.
Check TOYODIY.com for part numbers in general based on you VIN, great resource when hunting parts, allows you to call the dealer with a toyota part number to save trying to explain what you want to the less gifted parts folks. Some dealer parts people are awesome, not all.

90011-01018 is the seat heater switch bulb for my 1999LC
90981-11018 is the console shift bulb for my 1999LC

You may find that these two part numbers would fit all the applications you list but I'm not sure. IIRC the seat heater switch bulb also fits the PWR 2ND switches.

Make sure you search the site thoroughly, not too many basic repairs that are not addressed here.
Happy Hunting,

Has anyone published a LED replacement list for the center console bulbs?
I'm happy with the LED instrument bulbs, and would probably replace all the console/radio/HVAC bulbs with LEDs too.

For anyone else who stumbles across this post as I did...

For my 2000 LX...

The seat heater switch bulb:
8499910310

The 'pattern select switch' bulb (PWR/2nd):
9001001039

Success! We have light! After searching the internet I stumbled across an electronics website that has items from China. Its like an Amazon for electronics. I found T3 and T4 bulbs there cheaper than anywhere else. They come 5 to a pack. I just installed mine. They light up what needs to be lit, but I have to admit I was a little disappointed with the output. I think a lot of it has to do with the angle, and since they're LED's you can expect too much angled light.

T3's are for Quarter Windows, PWR 2ND, Seat Heaters, and AHC bulbs

T4's are for the Window Switch. They also fit the dash, but I wasn't replacing anything in there. I'm hoping that they also will fit the HVAC system. If anyone can confirm it would be great. My system is dying and dim

Here's pics of them installed

Rear window defroster, mirror defroster, and rear heat switch illumination bulbs (plus a 4th bulb under the blank switch cover are incandescent and adjacent to the LED's that indicate when the switch has been actuated.

Closest I could find were #2182 bulbs, but it's obvious once installed that the design voltage is something less than 12 volts given the bulb brightness.

I'm thinking they're maybe running on 5 volts as supplied by the body ecu.

Toyota and Lexus dealers locally have no part numbers and seem to think the only fix is to replace the entire circuit board.

Lamps for the diff lock and hazard switch can be gotten...they're quarter-turn bulbs on a plastic base.

hth, and if you can find replacements for the defrost and rear heat, info would be appreciated.

Will the lights still dim?

These are the bulbs that will fit the HVAC, Antenna, Center Diff, Emergency blinker, etc. center console on my 99 LC. I just changed mine out to blue since I have an Alpine head unit and the color illumination is blue.

You will need 8 these for knobs and buttons: 1 of them red (emergency flasher) and the other 7 your choice of color. 4mm

You will need 2 of these for the clock, your choice of color. 5mm

These are the same bulbs, just two different sizes, 4mm and 5mm.

I'm confused, I've checked with dealerships and they say the power mirror switch doesn't have a bulb. Is that a custom thing?

It has one on mine. Nothing was custom. Just replaced bulbs

In an ideal world, we'd make a diagram that shows which instrument lights correspond to which replacement bulb and parts..

That removal thread is a very good start, thanks for taking up the effort on that..

Hi. I recognize this is an older thread but I am in the process of replacing many small bulbs. Any tips on getting into these switches without snapping them? It appears possible but tolerances are very tight and defying current tool selection. Thanks.
