I have tail light problems too. I have a 1978 12v BJ40. Tail lights and dash lights quit working. I bought new tail lights. At the connector for each light at the rear of the vehicle I have turn signal and break lights. (I haven't really fooled around with the back up lights.) But I have no tail lights. After fooling around at the rear of the truck I went to the light switch. With the switch removed I discovered that I have power to the head light position but no power to the tail light position. Now for a twist. When I jumped the power from the head light position to the tail lights the rear turn signals lights lit up. Hmmm. Any suggestions?
