I am trying to adjust the fuel on my BJ-74 13B-T, I have a BJ-73 and i am able to adjust the fuel pump in it no problem but the fuel pump on the 13B-T is a little different and the workshop manual has poor photos. Can anyone post a link of share a good photo thanks Jim

update my reason for doing this is i can't get above 4psi on the boost gauge. No leaks and the light comes on at 2000rpm but wont boost over 4 psi. even with the vacume pipe removed from the wastegate? ideas?

Your wastegate could be jammed open, your turbo could be stuffed or your gauge could be faulty. If your only getting a max of 4psi then you have an underlying problem you need to correct first.

Thanks bee jay, i have checked all those options and all seem to be functioning well. The turbo is the only unknown. I had the same problem when i fitted a turbo to my BJ42 only 5 psi boost, as soon as i adjusted the fuel 14psi no problem. My bj74 blows no smoke at all so i thought this might be worth a try before removing turbos etc. Just can't find any good pics of adjusting the fuel and all the forum threads on the subject won't open. The only adjuster i can see on the pump is the boost compensator. I hope some one else will have a pic so i can check this option. thanks Jim

Found it without help, problem solved 8 psi no probs with 3/4 of a turn. thanks all for wiewing

watch your EGTs if you turned the fuel up

Thread High Jack -> Hey Prado T... what EGT's do you see on your BJ74? And... are the Mark's Gear's *loud*? Whiney? Or do you even notice the noise over the Mud Terrains?

The Marks gears do whine a bit, IMOP very liveable especially for the bennefit of being able to almost crawl 3.o5 to 1 low. With 1.08 to 1 high it does help if you are using tires over 32". I use SWEPCO and Lucas stabilizer on top of synthetic gear oil for the Gear box and T-case. Optimum egts at Full Load is around 950F

Full Load = Top gear at cruise with the ability to ever so slightly to keep accelerating at max boost . Hi-Jack over

increase fuel

I adjusted the amount of fuel by adjusting 3/4 of a turn on the fuel supply srew, The adjustment is hard to get to on the 13BT as they have an unusual fuel pump compared with the 3B which is quite easy to get to and adjust. YEs you have to watch the exhaust Gas temps but so far had no probs on any of my 3B's or this 13BT.
