During our spare time while we were doing nothing Jon helped me get motivated to do some things to my 40. I got a wild idea to get an early bib from Mark Algazy and change the looks of my '71. This also lead me to take the hood that I had hanging on the wall and repaint both and change the hood that flipped up on my truck a few years back.

Looks good!

Thanks Bob

For some reason Elaine doesn't understand why I did it.

What would she know, she drives a Tahoe.

Tom -

That really came out great. Looks like you got the alignment on the hood perfect! Sorry I couldn't make it out today. Someone was complaining about being a Land Cruiser widow and that some chores were long overdue (like spreading the mulch I bought last spring). I was in teh Christmas spirit and put up lights and such instead....better get to the mulch this week if I want to make it to Tech Day.

Thanks John. I really think the truck that is going to be really nice is Jon's. He's really putting alot of time into his.

I agree, he's putting an amazing amount of work on it. How did the rust repair that George did turn out? That guy is pricey but his work seems top notch. That guy has a college degree in automotive restoration - pretty darn cool.

Looks like Bob's 45 is going to turn out pretty nice as well. Must be nice having Ryan as a son..

Having said that, doing all of the work yourself, your truck turned out awesome.

Considering A) I started with less rust than Tom, and B) his is several trucks merged into one, and C) he did all the work himself, and D) he didn't have me to help him...well maybe that last one is a blessing. Anyway, I'd say Tom's is a mighty impressive rig and a testiment to his considerable skill and ingenuity!

Yeah, Jon ripped me off too! I gave me a newly primed skid plate for my FJ40 in exchange for a six-pack of beer. I skid plate didn't fit my non-stock exhaust! Can you believe the nerve? He said he already drank my beer and I could keep the plate anyway. I want my damn beer back!!!

Dave -

You can have the beer back...although it will be at body temperature!

That's all I need is another project It sounds like a cool idea though, like the guy that made the trailer out of the 60 front end.
I've tried to get Elaine to let me hang it on the wall in the rec room but I just get some strange looks out of her. I can't figure out why
