I replaced the mechanical last weekend but am still having this surging thing happening as many 'mudders' describe.

Should I change/do I have- an inline fuel pump?

I used the carter/federal mogul mechanical.

If I have one what should it be replaced with.

I put on a new fuel filter and OE gas cap the same day. Now I notice a bubling sound coming from the fuel tank after shut down sequences.

Any ideas?

Just put in some cheap NGK plugs this morning and the surging hasn't happened thus far. The number 2 cylinder plug was wayyyyy loose, and moved around everytime it fired. I had the Autolite plugs and feel that there may even be more power with the new plugs. maybe just my imagination.

from a previous post I understand the bubbling sound from the tank is normal?.

It did it again after the new stuff today.

WOW... I'm on to something.

symptoms... with light pressure on the gas pedal the the truck could be flooded out. I held the pedal lightly and the engine didn't die.... I heard a very quiet 'pop' and felt a click in the gas pedal. Suddenly everything was fine.

Is there something in the carb or linkage that is sticking.? what do I look for.

does it get worse when your car warms up?

Just an off the wall guess, but have you messed with the evaporative vapor emissions system from the fule tank? I crossed up some of these lines once and ended up sporadically getting raw gas into the intake manifold. Only happened when the tank was mostly full and under specific driving conditions. Had me scratching my head for a bit...

When I replaced the fuel pump on the block could I have messed that up?

Perhaps I missed the first half of this, (was it continued from another thread?)- I don't see where you mention if this truck is a 62, or a 60 series?
