Where is a good place to get one. I'm going to be replacing my pinion seal and need one to test the back lash. I know it should be somewhere near 5 in lbs. I've gone to a few places and no one seems to stock them. sears has a in/lbs torque wrench for $55 (out of stock though). But is it a meter I need or a wrench. All the auto places that loan a tool look at me weird when I ask for one and then say they don't have any. Auto Zone sold an in/lbs torque wrench but it only started at 109 in/lbs... way too high. Anyone know a good place to get one??

The one you want looks like this:

If you have a Harbor Freight or Northern Tool distributor in your area, they should have them in stock....

If not, try VatoZone (had to borrow one from them once for a gear swap)

Sears has a few that are reasonably priced

I think you want to check preload, not back lash.

yeah my bad that is what i ment

yeah I can't find one like the one in the picture anywhere...... i'm going to try sears again see what they got
