this allows for installation of 3 guages in the space under the radio. (i have been running the pyro, boost and either water or mech oil guage) it is a very solid aluminum mount that bolts right in to the black surround trim in the center area of the dash where the radio mounts. this allows for the radio to still be used in it's proper location as well as the option of 3 guages just below the radio. this makes for a very clean appearence and ease of installation and extration.
there needs to be very slight triming of the surround bottom and once it is installed it looks very profesional.
i will post a pic later.
if there is interest i wil be getting a few made up.
please email me direct if interested

cheers

the one shot is from the drivers perspective and the other is straight on. the triming of the surround can be done much neater but this is for my test LJ71 so i didn't really care for the final fit.
the one on the BJ70 rag top has a notch cut in below each guage and it looks much cleaner.
i now have the pattern at the lazer cutters so the cuts will be perfect each and every time.
if anyone is interested shoot me an email direct.
cheers

Looks real clean Wayne. If I didn't have an EQ there I'd probably have put mine in the same spot.

Looks good wayne :) I will take two more gauge plates.

good on ya mate,

Michael

Looks nice and clean Wayne.

How much more complicated would it be to create a template bezel that tilts the guage openings to the driver, and up a little, so when you glance they are on the same plane as the drivers eyes?

I want to turf the inside/outside temp, save the altimeter, and do something with a multi-gauge in one up a little higher.

gb

getting rid of the altimiter and hte temp guage and installing the guages up there will be easy enough to do, i have a template here to go by so i could make it work. i "think" you will only get 2 guages up there though...
cheers

I'd wanna keep the alt. Get a westach multi gauge...like you say...not much room. Point the gauge at the driver, and bob's your uncle...if it can be made to fit.

Below the radio is a nice clean option...for sure.

gb

they make an angle sheeth that will tilt the guage toward you, there is not enough room under the radio for it though since it takes an extra 3/8" space...
cheers and thanks

I did something like that in My BJ60, used the empty box area and mounted two gauges. I wanted to do three but did not think they would fit.

I will try and post a pic. my only concern with the center position and using autometers gages is the rim around the gauge. at that angle it makes it hard to read the one side of the gauge closest to you. weither rhd or lhd.

your's looks superclean.

Here is the one I went with APC 3 pod turned to driver. This is what I was looking for in my gauge pod post. Same as tlccruiserman's .

Greg, I'm pretty sure you can buy the beveled angle rings and use them to angle up and to the driver. Like these: http://hp.autometer.com/products/accessories/angle_rings/angle_rings.html

One day I'll get the boost.. Sorry for the hijack there wayne :D

I ran one with vacum for a while and did not see any vacum on the gauge, was pretty useless. the gauges that are boost are better to read precise boost readings.

I see most of you guys run a straight boost. I was going to get a 30hg vac with a 15 psi boost so I could read the gauge a little better with boost being less than 10. Does the 3b pull alot of vacuum with the average turbo or no?
