My truck is a 1980 FJ40 it was factory green, then painted crappy Blue by the PO.Now it's mine and I want to paint it green again.I was gonna go with the Toyota Code 621 Rustic Green, and Cygnus White:012.These OEM colors look good. But I want a little more flash & shine. Not to much bling.Just head turning.

So here are my color picks. Metallic green & mother of pearl white. The body would be Metallic green with heavy metal flake, and the rims roof & grill would get a coat of Mother of pearl white with coats of clear. All done in base coat clear coat. All of the OEM "pewter." parts are gonna be Stainless steel.

What are your thoughts.Do you like the color combo.

Here is a shot of the closest thing I could find with the Green & the mother of pearl white together.

What are some of your thoughts. YES ? NO ? Hate it? Love it?

I have yet to pick up these colors.I would like some input on my picks.

Since yer asking, I just don't think ANY 40 should have a little more bling. I'd go for one of the nice beige aka desert sand OEM Toy colors. But that's just me.

I like it but I have rustic green and I'm painting a different color. It's your cruiser so stick with what makes you happiest.

I fullyunderstand your thoughts, and feel the same way.
I do love the sparton look of the flat base colors offered OEM Toyota( in any color).I just wanted to go custom.I still wanted to keep the class & charm of the factory paint.Just more "flash & shine" as 1st said.

I don't care for ricer, bling on most vehicles. And on a 40 it would be worse.I was hoping these two color picks still had that vintage suttle look. With carefull thought in not to BLING IT.
And most of all to keep the 2 tone paint look.Green on white.

The reason why I'm doing custom paint, rather than stock is.That my body has had a trunk and 1/4's made from new metal. It was well made, but not factory metal ( flat metal). So it'll never be a show 40.But with the new metal & paint it should be solid and clean.

Now that you put it that way, it does sound scary! LOL( "heavy metal flake" what was I thinking?)
I love this color combo. But your right.I'll keep it a "light metal" flake. And a nice clear coat.

The last thing I want is a pimp 40.
I just want a clean custom paint job. With out going to far over the top.
