So guys - I want to get rid of my Cherokee as a DD and get a 60 or a 62. I would like a 62 (auto and EFI) but like the 60 (2f and manual windows and doors)but don't really care that much. I'm looking to spend around $4-7000. I want zero rust (I have enough of that with my Piggie). Any ideas???

Me thinks someone's been bitten by the Cruiser bug...:grinpimp:

Steve,
thats funny bc......I want a 60. I know my 62 is a little ruff for what you are probably looking for. I have a buddy who might buy my 62 so I can fund a 60. Weird how things in the landcruiser world change. If nothing happens, the SOA is still on for my 62. I just like the feel for a manual tranny.

I gots tha bug bad! :D

Your 62 is for sale? I don't want a mint cruiser, and I don't want a cruiser that I will be afraid to add some Cullowhee pinstripping to either. I do want a Cruiser with little to no rust and pretty mechanically sound...whatcha got? I saw Mongo has one possibly for sale also...

did yournamehere's 60/62 sale up in Fairview. i believe it did but worth looking into. and as well im trying NOT to buy shmucksters up in pa. it does have rust, but for 1200 and great running condition its hard to look away..... will keep my eyes out up here.

Sheesh Steve, get the 55 done before you go spreading out too thin and end up with a bunch of half finished cruisers that you can't do squat with :)

Steve,

My 62 isn't up for sale but I would have no problems letting her go to another cruiserhead so I could get a 60.

She runs very well, needs a front axle rebuild, and tune up. I came back from greenville today and had no problems going over 60. I usually don't push harder than that. She is somewhat ruff looking. Almost all of the two toned light color blue paint is oxidized. There are only a few rust spots on the body. No larger than a quarter, all surface. The rear quarters both have trail damage, both to which i have banged out, but still looks like I beat them with a bat.

My plan is spring over, eliminate all rust, and then body work. I'd like to paint a white, tan or maybe even OD green color. This is all still in the works but if I can find a decent 60 to DD then I would give "MO" to a good owner. Either way good luck finding a wagon to DD. I love the 60 series. You can go to the trail and pack all your crap along with it and have no problems needing more space. I'd like to find a 40 but those plans have been put on the back burner until I get my wagon situation under control.

That one in GA is right down the road from me. I could take a camera and give a full report if you make contact and are interested.

Thanks for the ideas guys. Right now I'm eyeing a few...a new candidate is @ [FONT=&quot]https://forum.ih8mud.com/showthread.php?t=155331&highlight=62 . IT has fairly low miles for a 62, no real rust from what I can tell. I don't care about the faded paint. The road trip for this one will be about the same distance as the one I did for my Piggie. I think it is a fair deal for $4000 if it is as it appears and airfare to Dallas/Fort Worth from ATL is cheap.

I'm going to check out the cruisers listed above a little closer.
