What sayeth the MUD?

Couple of things to think about:
1. Using Organization's Logos: I'm not sure we can use any of the organization's logos w/o being paying members of each one. While individuals may be members themselves, I can't see an un-organized race team being able to do this unless we make the team an official entity and raise funds to pay for yearly memberships. Seems like too much of a headache. That said, I'm going to check in w/ each organization to verify requirements. I'd appreciate assistance from those who have ties to any of these organizations.

2. Sponsors: The current sponsor list is my company and the brands that have agreed to extend grassroots sponsorship. This list is open to anybody in the 4x4 and cycling communities that would like to participate. I'd especially like to get some MUD vendors onboard. Most already give MUD members a discount of one sort or another, so this would just be another spot to recognize those vendors.

I think this is a great idea, I know I'd rock one of these in El Tour de Tucson. I liked the idea of having tire tracks on the jersey, but that raises the question of what kind of tracks and how do you get artwork? If I wanted to have our logo put on it, what's the cost?
Thanks,
Rex

Where do I pay for Jersey like that ???

Very cool !!!

I am in for sure when this jersey is completed. If I had a 4x4 related business I would sponsor.

I'm still in on this. Let me know when the order goes out.

I'm in as long as there's a clydesdale option.

Count me in too. These are sweet! I am on a team for the local MS150 but their kit is hideous and I would wear MUD for my own training rides. My wife is doing another half Ironman this summer. Any plans on a woman's cut?

So as far as sponsors go, like the six you have, how is the fee structure set up ? If its based on donations, where does the money or schwag end up or who does it benefit ? I'm all for sponsors, but only if it benefits the "TEAM" and 4wd associations that keep our sport alive and well keeping trails open. My .02

Good input Z.

I'm of a similar mindset. This effort should be more about helping keep trails open and than fleecing anyone's pockets. ...including my own. You can read a little about the program that I'm putting together with IMBA to benefit trail builders and access advocates - click through to the Unsung Heroes page on my site.

Most race team sponsorships are set up w/ either free or reduced cost product for team members. I don't see this being different, except that since it's likely going to be a really spread out grassroots team, we'll likely treat purchasing in the same manner that clubs do group buys. Team members who actively race will get the schwag and first crack at product deals. Donations and/or any moneys collected for sponsorship could go towards a charity or non-profit trail access/trail building organization.

I don't think we'll make much -if any- money off jersey sales at first, but eventually they'll make some money. I'd like to see some of those profits go towards the same charitable organizations.

I'm open to any and all input on team organization, sponsors, charitable organizations worth supporting, additional sales channels, etc. ...and, if there's anyone on here who wants to get involved in some way, that's cool too.

---

For those that are continuing to chime in on sizes and styles, I'm pricing some different options now and should have options to discuss soon.

Thanks for all of your efforts . Its amazing how much time and effort goes into something like this to make it happen. Thanks again.
