Ive been having the most annoying ignition electrical problem for awhile now. My 62 runs rough and really rough after it after getting hot. Sometimes after getting hot it will stall and won't start up for approximately 15 minutes, and then it will start up and I can drive it. I previously had the coil, distributor, cap, and plug wires all replaced and it was fine for a couple weeks and then started to act up again. It had an aftermarket coil on it before (it was called a fire something) that had a crack in it which was placed with a Toyota coil. So all the stuff is new except the ignition module which is a dyna mod. I was wodering if this module could be causing the problem being the coil is now a factory coil do I need to go back to the stock ignition module (really expensive). Thanks in advance for any help I hoped I explained the problem.

Go back to all stock. It works, works well, and will do so for the foreseeable future.

Assuming that you're talking about the ignitor that Man-a-fre sells (which is made by Davis), I've run the dyna-mod ignition for years. Yours may be bad but it isn't inherently incompatible. It might be worth a call to Davis to see if they can help.

I think it was the Man a fre system. The coil had a crack in it and then I had all of the rest of the stuff replaced except the igniter. I may try him. The Toyota igniter is really expensive although Rock Auto has it for 158. The dyna module looks like it may plug in a different way from the stock module

Check the classifieds here, can probably find a used ignitor for a more reasonable price.

The dyna mod plugs in exactly the same but the wiring colors are different.
