I can turn the ignition off and remove my key without the vehicle being in park. i.e., still in "drive" but engine off and vehicle stopped. This started when I took the vehicle in to a dealer to be repaired for ignition key failure.
The dealer repaired all ignition key problems but never corrected the interlock/safety/key out only if in park thing.
I got lazy/busy and just ignored it but now I should fix it for safety purposes before selling the vehicle.
Is this a DIY fix?....or dealer only?
