I'm looking for a replacement for my Igniter & coil. Part numbers: 19070-61080

Pic attached.

Orginal Igniter Coil Assy for 1988 Land Cruiser.jpg

I have one and can film a video of it installed and running on a FJ62 later today.

$150 + a $200 core charge returned when you ship your coil/ignitor back to me assuming they are intact.

Nice...Sorry it took me so long to get back. I actually just got one near me so it's worked out. If mine fails again, I'll keep you in mind.

I doubt your coil or ignitor are bad (especially not both at the same time) hence the high core charge. They really are forever parts...

Hey BKSwim75, if you still have the igniter, I may want it. Or, maybe you could answer a question. I have no spark from my ignition coil. I replaced the igniter a couple weeks ago and the truck ran great. I took a short road trip, got back, parked it. When I went to start it, I found myself in the same situation, the truck cranks like a champ, but no spark from the ignition coil. I've checked all the voltages/ resistances to and from and everything is with in range given in the shop manual.
Any thoughts?

Hi. Did you get this sorted out? Having a similar issue and looking for some pointers. Truck was fine after a water pump replacement then just will not start. Haven’t started troubleshooting yet.

It could be that it is the signal generator in the distributor. that is malfunctioning. Check to see if you have any engine codes, specifically 51.

No engine codes now but I did have a code 25 ( lean fuel) that came one just once while it was still running. Verified that I have good spark. Seems like she’s not getting fuel. Going to remove a line to the fuel filter tomorrow to see if anything is pumping. Really hoping it’s not a bad fuel pump.

you replaced the water pump on your FJ62 3F-E and now itt will NOT start up upon engine cranking .......correct ?

so what you did and what happen is you have severed one or more of the various Upper & Lower thermostat housings Sensors and sending units , plugs , wires or broke off the crusty end of the sensor itself ....

this set up is directly above the water pump , and just like
all of us it became place to stage tools and parts , and then a place you needed too sift though because the pile got a bit big mid-job ....

see my tech example pics , start here and make DAM certain all is 100% normale and in good working order ?

this is the way ......

This is incredibly helpful. I’ll go back look at all of these. She ran for a few days after the pump replacement but there were no signs of trouble before the no-start issue. The plastic under the hood is pretty brittle, especially around the thermostat. I “think” the last thing I did before she quit was to look at the air filter. I’ll reinspect this area more closely also.

did you fully remove your alternator as in the BIG plastic PLUG and the B+ ring terminal

if so ?

make sure all Righty-Tighty and stuff too ?

eazy-peezy confirm and verify

check all fuses in lower LH fuse box to make sure all are GOOD / none blown ?

/.

Just made it loose so I could remove the belts but I’ll check that to.

I can hear the fuel pump and there does appear to be fuel getting to the engine, at least by the small fuel line that goes into the passenger side of the engine. Happy about that.

I went ahead and swapped the ignition coil just because it was easy to do. Still nothing obvious.
Thermostat connections all look good.

So weird and probably obvious.

I’ll check the fuses with a meter and see if something is burned out that I can’t see visually.
