Just an FYI, this is a fantastic deal and Today is the Last day --

Husky Hand Tools (Sockets and Box Wrenches) are made in the same Taiwan factory as Matco's Silver Eagle budget line, but Husky is generally half the price and this is half of that!

I know, not tech, but for those struggling with a small box of crap hand tools, this is for you.

There's also a 270 pc set on sale for $129 but I think this set is better suited for common Cruiser sizes.

On sale for $199? Regularly $399?

Someone else said it's $149 in their location, so it may be a regional thing? Here's what I see on the website in So Cal :

Maybe try searching using the H268MTS code ?

Grrrrrr.....

I'm in northern WI right now. I would drive the 40 miles to the nearest home depot and back for THAT price. It is a pretty comprehensive core toolset. I need one like that up here at my cabin as a backup. Double Drat. And all I usually hear from many of you CA murders is how much your state sux.

They've got to tempt us into Home Depot with something 'cuz all our income goes to housing costs!

I picked one up just now for $99. Great truck set. You might try checking out, it first shows $149 for me then checkout said $99, regularly $199.

Trust me, I'd rather have a lakefront cabin outside L.A. than be able to save 50 clams on a tool set, anyday. Even if I had to be right next to U of W ! If ya know what I'm sayin' without making this P & R ! ;)

Yeah, like Jdog sez, this makes a great truck set for the price, if you can get it for that - Not complete for a Cruiser, and a bunch of SAE, but I end up having to fix crap and diff peeps houses all the time so this will come in handy and as a bonus, the carry case is pretty robust.

Good Luck all!

Thanks for the heads up @Spike Strip, I could use a few chrome sockets. ;)

@joebattle1 I just noticed that you posted at 3:44 A.M are you at work or heading to work? :hmm:

I think yesterday was the last day of the sale.

Ha! I’m still on vacation and I don’t always sleep well... Was up lurking on my iPad.

Heading back to the Bay today from Paso. Might stop at Holister to stretch the ol girls legs.

I'm looking at it now and it's still $99 and I'm still contemplating.:hmm:

I got it coming tomorrow, it's my early birthday gift to me.

It's surprising how nice and complete a set this is, particularly at that price point. It's overkill for a travel set, but I suppose you never know when you're gonna need those SAE sockets!

I just saw that the price is $149 regular -as in not on sale-. So I guess the $199 in the ad up top was a tad misleading, eh, Home Depot?
But notwithstanding that, if the quality is good, that's a good deal at $99.
Anybody knows how they compare to the HF sets qualitywise? As in sizing, machining, etc?

HF has a new line branded "Icon" and those are pretty good.

The Husky are made in the same Taiwan factory as budget line Matco and Prolly other name-brand stuff. Can't say if they're better or worse but they have a 'Lifetime Warranty' with no receipt required so ...
