I just tuned the cruiser today using my newly estate-sale acquired $2 "Dixson" brand Dwell/Tach meter. I usually never stop at those, but this place had a couple "project" cars parked next to the shop-sized garage, so it looked worthy of a quick check.

I have no use for the dwell on my '83 60, but the tach function sure is cool. One end to ground, the other to the pos. side of the coil, and voila! I can read accurate RPM underhood!

I tuned the cruiser using the FSM Lean Drop method, and it seemed to work quite well! Set the fast idle, too.

It's amazing actually TUNING the carb, instead of GUESSING by using the factory dash tach. I learned that my factory tach is a bit off, BIG surprise there!

Anyways, hopefully this'll help the cruiser run better, cleaner, more efficiently, and longer!

If you don't have one of these meters, go out and get yourself a proper, useful tool.

really ?????? If my math is correct then my factory tach is fairly accurate.

my math based on my speedo being a proven 10% off so at 50 mph its actually going 55 which should be 2100 on the tach with the 33s
