So that says to me that this truck, which is very basic with no rear wiper, no clock and no fog lights originally, has a harness in it to support those things, that might be awesome.

The harness usually includes plugs for that equipment. Parts commonality, I guess. The same harness can suit different models.

For fog lights, check the front part of the front fenders in the engine bay. A wire harness runs there. There should be a two-pin plug there if the truck is wired for fog lights. A similar plug, in the same harness but closer to the firewall, is intended for the small turn lights that are common in Europe-spec trucks.

Hello,

That explains the rear heater switch location.

If your truck has the small fender indicator lights, check the harness for fog lights plugs. It is likely they are there.

Is your dash disassembled? It would be interesting to have a look at the harness. By that I mean pictures.

Again, the rear heater switch indicates it is a Europe spec 75 Series.

It appears your harness has provision for a 4WD switch and a mirror control switch.

Your truck has a differential lockers switch, which suggests your harness has some extra plugs. There should be a 4WD ECU between the pedals and the fuse box.

I may be stating the obvious here. The PO hacked some AC control in the switch panel. Cheaper than getting the whole setup, including the switch, I guess.

By the way, the boxes/tables with lines and circles in the wiring diagram show how the circuit operates under different switch positions, as well as where to check for electrical continuity when troubleshooting.

"4WD switch" - interesting since I have a manual transfer lever for 4wd and high/low (H55f and split transfer case)
"4WD ECU" - will I have that since I have a manual lever (as above)?
"AC" - yes, there has been non-OEM AC added. My heater controls do not have AC provisions. Interestingly the PO's switch triggered power from a 24>12v converter to run the electrics of the AC system. I'm replacing all of that and supplying 12v from a different converter that is also supplying 12v to other accessories.

Hello,

Number 3 is the connector for the left-hand speaker.

Number 2 is the main ignition/engine harness. I have not seen it unplugged.

Number 5 is for the power mirrors.

Number 4 may be the hazard switch, which has a different setup in Europe spec trucks.

One of the bulbs below Number 1 is for the air filter warning. The other is not used. I am not sure about Number 1.

I took the chance to check.

The images below are from a 1995 FZJ73.

This is the left side of the instrument panel. This is the power mirror control connector. Above is the power source connector for the two bulbs on the left side of the panel. In the background, it is possible to see the pink wire for the left speaker.

This connector is unused on gasoline engines. Blower fan switch connector on the right.

You can see part of Number 2 in the background.

Regarding Number 2, it is used on gasoline engine trucks.
