Anyone know what this is?

That’s the fuel solenoid connector. Doesn’t look too happy. Obviously...

Yes at some point there appears to have been a small fire. I'm going to replace it, even though I think it worked before.
Hopefully splicing the wire doesn't hurt it.

Splice a new plug on it, not permanent splice. You want the wire to be supported when the carb is installed so it's not dangling on hot stuff

Someone on this forum has a large collection of wiring harness components. I forget who it is however...

Beno might have some.

Not a fusible link. I'd still try coolerman or part outs

Well it is a Solinoid on one end, it’s just the plug that is burned up.
One side of the plug has 2 wires, the other only has one now. Can I just put a different style plug in?
Where does this other wire go?

Cut that off and use any 2-wire connector. I really like the Duestch connectors for example.

Any idea where that top missing wire actually goes?

Yes different style will probably be required unless you are hell bent on a restoration. One wire is I think that is the ground for the fuel cut solenoid. Stub should be close by?

1 wire goes to 12v and the order grounds at an emissions computer. With the key on and engine off, see if you have 12v. If you do, you'll have to use the fsm to figure out where the other write connects to the computer. If no, you can use the fsm to find where it connects to 12v or just wire it up anywhere you get 12v with the key on. Hopefully someone can take a pic of where they connect, I don't have my cruiser at the moment

I don’t think it’s been connected since I’ve had it. Maybe someone will have some pics.

You can find that standard Toyota 2 pole connector on a car in the junkyard. It's on several underhood components, as well as sidemarker & license lights.

Of note in the pic: the air cleaner seal ring is mashed flat & laying on the carb. It is a 'C' shaped ring that should be snapped into the air cleaner neck. Still available from Mr. T.
There is a vac hose connecting the AC idle up to the choke opener. This is not correct for a stock or desmogged setup.

You never know what you will find huh! I'll try and get that seal ring, then try to figure out that hose I guess.

What is "Mr. T"? besides the big black guy with gold chains that peety's the fools.
