About to stick Vector 5s on my ‘19. Window sticker says Aichi Japan if that matters at all. Wondering if there’s any better photos of the spare tire lift mod that might need to be done. Also do I definitely need new TPMS? Stock rig and putting on 285/70/17

As for the latter, I didn’t need new tpms when I installed mine. Originals still working fine. Right after install they were a tad confused but settled in after a day.
You only need TPMS if you want to restart the clock on when the batteries are going to die. With a 2019, I'd probably risk it and wait to replace them on next set of tires. The sensors will definitely move over from the OEM wheels to the Icons. The tire installer may want you to get the rebuild kits (a couple of gaskets).
I suspect you don't have to worry about the tire hoist mod. I think they changed it somewhere along the way and it wasn't necessary. If you do need it, it's very obvious once it's all in front of you. There is a tube that the chain goes through just above the tire holder where they intersect. If the tube is too long you won't be able to get the hoist through. The mod is to cut the tube off. There are some pictures around, but if you don't find one, it's pretty trivial. I do vaguely remember someone saying that somewhere after 2016 the hoist was a different part and didn't require the mod.

There isn’t a clear year split, and it seems different suppliers were building slightly different parts at the same time. Just have to get under there and look. Thanks! Dropped the old one and it doesn’t have a pipe at all. Fit into the wheel fine and will have KO3s on it next week. Hopefully it fits up there.
Just finished this project & went old school - hacksawed the little stub while still attached. What are you guys doing with the slack/dangle chain portion? Seems like it will scratch the new wheel face during driving whereas I didn’t think about it at all with the oem spare.
Just though the middle? Through a different gap? And then any sort of padding on wheel face edge?
Are you installing the wheel face down?

I think facing up is correct. Yeah you can take some rubber strips/ thick double aided tape etc. and place them between the wheel face and the frame to eliminate any marks that may appear on the wheel.
I found the easiest modification on the chain is to replace one of the links with a threaded link from the hardware store, that insures the wheel is securely attached.
Someone on Facebook recently posted pictures of their vector 5s cracking. I'm not sure if he's in here or whether it's OK to post the picture in here. Even though my icon wheels have a higher load rating than the vector 5s, I'll start to inspect them regularly from now on.

There are documented failures on rock warriors too. Not defending Icon, it’s just this isn’t unheard of with aluminum

It’s @x_factr_adventures on instagram, think he’s on here too. Super nice guy, definitely uses his truck, but that’s a through and through crack on an otherwise pristine wheel. Shouldn’t happen.
