These are satin black. They did rub a little on the front of the wheel well and the mud flaps. I used a heat gun to move the plastic back.

Good thing I ordered some Method 314's last week. Just spoke with Icon and the order I made 10 weeks ago, that they have told me repeatedly would be fulfilled the first week in March, will be another 8 to 10 weeks. Told me the container arrived today but that I was too far down the waiting list so they have to bump me to the next shipment. I get it, they have so much business they don't have to worry about things like customer service.

ICON is overhyped Instagram junk. Their suspensions are overated and over-priced and their wheels are made in China.

Do you work for a competitor? It just seems you are really, really against icon. I have no dog itf. Just honestly curious if you’ve owned icon wheels or had their suspension and have specific 1st hand negative experience & feedback. Honestly curious. Thanks.

Yeah, I haven't been impressed with their customer service. They seem overly busy and not very attentive to details

It's no secret that wheels in this price range are China Number 1. I do agree they are overhyped on most of their product lines.

With all of that said, with their sale in the Fall of 2022, it was basically buy four wheels at 30% off and get the fifth for free. I also happen to like the way they look.

I called my Discount Tire on Tuesday to see if they could get an update. They were told the wheel order would be shipping "the second week of March". I ordered a set of 5 bronze wheels

I don't really even want to bother with the "wheels are made in China" comment but...so? Who cares? If I could find a set of 5 Rock Warriors, or even a set of 4 Rock Warriors +1 steelie for the same price or even within $200 of what the Icon wheels cost I would have bought them. There are simply none around me and haven't been any for months and months of looking. There aren't any other aftermarket wheels in 17" that I think look good. If they end up not shipping out then I will probably just order some Methods as well even though none of their designs excite me.

Toyo Open County AT3 285/70/17, 1.25” taller.
Only rubs slightly when backing up, but can easily be fixed

I’m curious how long ago you ordered. If it was not longer than 8 weeks ago, you may be in the same boat.

I agree, as far as the look of the wheel. I haven’t seen anything (17 inch with a 5x150 bolt pattern and offset between 20 and 50mm) that I think looks nearly as good. As for quality, there are so many rigs out there running these things, wheeling, over landing etc…

Only complaint I’ve ever read is that the position of the valve stem leaves it a bit vulnerable. You would think if there was a quality issue someone would mention it in the Icon Vector 5 thread.

No.

Ever watch X-Overland? They have had Icon failures on their 100 and multiple Tacomas and 5th Gen 4Runners. Not leaking shock failure, either, like complete mechanical failure.

There are reported failures on here across the 100/200 section as well. It's just not worth the hype or the price.

Wow - those look so good! Here's to hoping my order gets filled because I really don't think I will be as happy with any other wheel style. I also have 285/70 KO2 that will be paired with it. They look perfect. Bronze is the best looking color.

It was mid-January - did you order bronze as well? I guess we will find out in the next few weeks if we win the lotto. I have seen a few comments about the valve stem/getting some rock rash due to the design. My use case will be fairly light so those two things are not immediately concerning me. I suppose I could be okay with the silver/titanium finish if those end up being available and bronze are not. I have zero interest in black wheels at all.

Yes, ordered the bronze also. My order was Jan 12th. You can call Discount and they will call Icon directly and confirm for you. I was not into black either but was all I could find in stock without simulated beadlocks.

I really liked the bronze wheels that came on the heritage edition and was initially going to go with them, but were quite a bit more.

Once I saw the Vector 5 in a bronze, I knew those were the ones I was going with!
Ended up buying five.

When installing the new Vector 5 spare, the bracket doesn’t fit through the wheel center, so you’ll need to disconnect the chain from where it’s mounted and thread it through and reattach it

Make sure you get the correct lugs as well.

I knew about the lugs, those are on the order. The spare bracket thing I think is only related to certain years/models of LX and LCs. I think it is the 16+ spare carrier that has the weirdness.

No issue with the spare bracket on my 17LX other than I felt silly hiding a shiny new wheel and tire under the rig! 🤦‍♂️ just make sure the chain slack doesn’t bind and scratch the wheel face - I also reused the stock spare wheel face cover, fits well enough.

I think it’s pre 2016 that has the issue.

Just got a call from Discount Tire. My bronze wheels are in. I ordered them last fall so hopefully others will be getting theirs soon as well. Now I need to get some TPMS sensors.
