Well, I hate to back out of this one now, but I have to. My dad needs help taking our tractor to my brothers house in Cal. tomorrow, and since he cut off the first part of his index finger on wednesday, I need to help him. I don't want him messing around with that heavy equipment in this cr@ppy weather with a huge bandage around his hand. :frown:

Hope Pop's is okay.

Its gonna be S L O P P Y!
I went yesterday up in the hills behind the power station over here...I was hosing the rig down for 1.5 hrs last noc upon my return...
Did I ever say... IH8MUD!!!
Vile nasty crap.
There was some poor lady out there in a Saturn suv...donno what she was thinking, but she made it pretty far in it...

Have fun!

Sorry to hear that Matt. Hope he is okay.

The big difference Keith is that that side of the valley is colder, higher and has much more snow. It might be a little muddy on the bottom of the hill going up Dog Valley, but once we get some elevation, it will be nothing but snow.

Besides, if it gets as cold as they say it's supposed to, it will be frozen.

So by your "have fun" sign off, you aren't going to make it?

We took a short ride up Mt Rose this afternoon. It looks like you guys will have snow all the way. :bounce:

Ive been thinking about you guyz. Hope it was good up there for ya.
Obviously, I didnt make the run. Hangin at home this weekend, doing some clean up in the garage, maybe burn a couple of welds just to do it... going to have sushi in a bit!
Getting ready to order the adapter for the 4L60E to NP203:bounce::bounce2:
That will keep me occupied for a bit once that gets here!

No worries, it was just Fallon Dan and I. The snow had a frozen crust on it and as soon as you broke through, the going got tough. We only made it up to the spring on Verdi Peak road. Got to where I could only make it a few feet, back up, try again, gain a few feet and start the process over again. We decided to call it while we were ahead.

I will say that this is the first trip I have been on where chains would have been a big help.

Sorry, we didn't take any pictures, in fact I forgot our camera.

By the way, Keith, no mud.:grinpimp:

Of all of the ones I have tried in Reno, Sushi Time over off of Vista Blvd has been my favorite. Good flavor and no "fishy" smell or taste to any of the raw stuff. That is where Darcie and I go.

Yea we had Fun and Jack got tug me out a few times hehe i took the stock 80 out with 31's but i will say it did do very well i was pushing snow with the bumper in places and draging axles through it alot of the time but had a good time just the same and yes i will agree Chains would have a been a big help that and i wish i had put my 32" BFg's on but decided not to you know i really ought to listen to myself more often ROFL

At least you guyz got out...Drag that you couldnt get in as far as youd have wanted.
Even more...Im excited to hear that there was NO MUD! Glad that yous guyz had fun!

Had sushi, got really full, Went over to Rusty's place to check out what he had in mind for his wrap bar, went to HF...spent money, came home and burned some welds for a couple of hours. Man I need a project to do.

Well...if you are REALLY looking for a project you can come up when I get the LC back and remove the AO drawers and frame along with all the rear interior panels, headliner, etc and drill and install the roof top 2M antenna. And while you're at it the two rear wing windows need new motors and weatherstripping. Shouldn't take you more than a weekend or so :D.

Lemme know when you want to start :bounce::bounce2:

Yeah...I guess its like saying that Reno has GOOD pizza.:D

You're right on that! Ok pizza but not great pizza. Unless you count the pies I throw together at home :)

UMMMM...You know where I live!?

Check this place out www.tasteofchicago.com
. That will take you to the taste of chicago...Hot dog kits, pizza shipped frozen, beef sammies....One of the reasons I miss home sometimes.
Its a little spendy, but what nothing around here will suffice...Its a good substitute. Nothing like eating at the establishments, but its decent.

Heck Yea Keith just let me know when Spresso leaves it with and ill come help ya with the Mods ROFL i can think of all kind of cool things we can do hehe

Dan :cheers::steer::bounce::bounce2:

Glad you guys had fun and no drama. My butt is still cold from sitting under the 40 all day, spending the day in the hundy's heated seats would have been a lot more enjoyable.:grinpimp:

I think Chicago might have a few projects to keep him busy after today. "Chicago Steel Works" has a nice ring to it doesn't it?:grinpimp:

On the topic of sushi, I think Aloha Sushi had some of the best I've ever tasted. I haven't been there in years so i don't know if that's still true. When you think about it the SF fish market is only hours away, same for Seattle, there is no reason we can't have fresh fish.

Hope Pop's is okay.

Sorry to hear that Matt. Hope he is okay.

thanks guys. He's in some pain, but fine. Iwish I would have gone today, but we had to get that tractor up there.... I guarantee my dad would be in much more pain if he tried to do it all by himself.

Bummer on the pictures! I wanted to see some deep snow wheeling!

Wish I coulda been there today, but I had more volatile matters to attend to....

Glad to hear your pop's is ok bud and sometimes you have to do the things you dont really wanna do instead of wheeling and trust me i would have done the same for my Father and i think we would have. Well Rusty you get the 40 back together or ? and yes it would have been more fun going with me and Jack but you gotta do what ya gotta do if ya wanna play later/

It was DOWN RIGHT COLD!
My frail little body cant handle that kind of weather.

Back to sushi....Aloha USED to be our favorite until the original owners sold out to some new owners. I donno what they did, maybe turned the temp down on the coolers...the stuff that was supposed to be cold, wasnt, and I got sick TWICE from there and never went back. First time I got sick, I thought it was a fluke, the very next time got sick again...
My favorite is Atlantis, but youre waiting for it. Jazmine is pretty good too.

Chicago steel...sounds good. Donno if my hack jobs could justify a name though. I just LOVE welding. If I get to weld, Im happy.

BTW, I tried a different technique yesterday with washing my puddle...I do have to say, those welds were some of the prettiest Ive personally done. Granted they were in postition welds, but I found that same technique also works for vertical UP welding too, which for me is a very hard technique...Great penetration on the vert up, but if you move too slow, the puddle runs DOWN and the bead globs, so its hard to find the right pace.
